The auction will be fast paced, so bids must be made quickly. 4. Payment by the successful bidder will be made at the end of the evening (approx. 10 p.m.) when all items may be paid for at one time. Cash, personal checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express will be accepted. 5. A ll sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds on items by the donors or this institution except where specified unless donor is unable to fulfill obligation as described. Many items, such as the vacation homes, are non-transferable. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donors. The terms are not negotiable. Please read the specifications and limitations carefully. 7. Lancaster Country Day School makes no express or implied warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to the property or services, and in no event shall it be responsible for the correctness of description, nor deemed to have made any representation or warranty of description, genuineness, authenticity, or condition of the property or services and no statement in the catalog or made at the sale or in the bill of sale or invoice or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty or representation

or an assumption of liability. By his or her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either Lancaster Country Day School or the donor of the property or services, and neither LCDS nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the utilization of property or services sold. 8. Children’s Challenge

Your support for Children’s Challenge will equip our Lower School and The Hubbard Science Center with air conditioning. Currently our Middle and Upper School facilities enjoy full climate control. Tonight’s effort will allow us to expand that to the remainder of the school’s classrooms. The matter transcends simple matters of comfort. Numerous studies find a correlation between classroom environment and learning outcomes. When we cool a classroom, we remove the distraction of discomfort and foster learning. Upgrading our climate control will benefit both student and faculty wellness. Why now? Until recently, it was uncertain if the upcoming campus expansion and improvements would require tearing down either the Science Center or Lower School. Now that we know that both of these spaces will be kept intact and upgraded, and that the existing Lower School will be repurposed to serve many program areas, we have a unique chance to get a head start on a specific improvement. The sooner we invest in this upgrade, the sooner we may enjoy it. If fully funded, our current vision calls for airconditioning upgrades by next school year. Thank you in advance for your support.

The hallmarks of a Franklin & Marshall College education are

individual attention and support. In small classes and labs, our faculty challenge students to achieve their personal best and engage them on a level not found at other institutions. A remarkable two-thirds of our students collaborate on a research project with a faculty member, and 40 percent of faculty publications are co-authored by students. F&M professors do not confine learning to lecture halls and seminar rooms. They take students with them into the field and the community, where they gain valuable, hands-on experience. And our five College Houses, which group

first-year students into smaller cohorts, are student-governed spaces where residents socialize, learn and stretch their intellect. Discover F&M: facebook.com/fandmadmission twitter.com/fandmadmit pinterest.com.fandmcollege ourfandm.tumblr.com
