HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR TARGET CLIENT BASE? In a word — diverse. Our services are primarily “ground and down,” which means Langan is “asset agnostic.” Hence we have supported projects in virtually every real estate sector: commercial, residential, warehouse, industrial, ecommerce, aviation, hospitality, education and healthcare. We also support corporate clients and utilities with leadingedge environmental services, and have an exceptional track record in landfill redevelopment. Additionally, our energy practice is growing on multiple fronts: oil and gas, particularly midstream (pipeline) and renewables, especially groundmounted solar.
WHAT IS A NOTEWORTHY TRANSACTION OR PROJECT THAT YOUR FIRM HAS WORKED ON RECENTLY?
Cooper Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
TELL US ABOUT A CREATIVE SOLUTION THAT YOUR FIRM PROVIDED TO A REAL ESTATE CLIENT. In addition to being a leader in New Jersey’s LSRP program, Langan is on the cutting-edge with respect to in-situ remediation, which means cleaning soil “in place” versus excavating and hauling it off-site. Our methods range from chemical oxidation to bioremediation to soil vapor extraction. We are experts in applying these technologies on complex redevelopment projects. These minimally invasive techniques can save time and money and are often much safer for the environment. Another similar solution is insitu soil stabilization/solidification (ISS) technology, which involves precipitating and encapsulating contaminants to prevent leaching, which can turn a contaminated zone into buildable land. For example, Langan recently helped an active petroleum refinery close two lagoons that contained petroleum hydrocarbons, arsenic, chromium, and PCBs. Our innovative ISS application saved the client nearly $6 million over conventional excavation and off-site disposal.
