Over 70 businesses, churches, and nonprofit organizations came together for four days this January to transform Gus Young Avenue in the heart of Mid City Baton Rouge. To honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. volunteers worked to reactivate Gus Young Avenue by painting murals, fixing up houses, planting community gardens, and cleaning up blighted properties. This year over 4000 community members participated over 4 days to build on the momentum of 2016 when 2000 volunteers converged to beautify Main Street from Downtown to Mid City.
