n our rapidly-industrializing country, education is considered to be one of the most effective and basic instruments to develop. Every year, millions of our youngsters join the education army, and this requires more sources and opportunities to be allocated to education every other year.
Murat AKYÜZ
. . IKMIB Chairman of the Board of Directors
In industry, one of the most important factors is the growth of manpower with enough knowledge, skills and work habits to produce high production. Therefore, it is important that occupational education, which is an infrastructure investment in the development of industry, is attached the necessary importance and educational opportunities are diversified. As an association, in order to contribute to the growth of qualified workforce needed by our companies, we received a grant from the European Union's Lifelong Learning Program, and initiated the Chemical Movetech project. In this project, we prepared the electronic learning (e-learning) platform and the training modules in which people working or desiring to work in the industries of Paint, Pharmaceutics, Plastics and Soap will find information they need. As İKMİB, we are glad to have contributed through our project to the target of "Growing Qualified and Educated Manpower Which Has Internalized the Awareness of Technology and Quality for Every Level of the Chemical Industry" as stated in the Chemical Strategy Document. I wish the said training modules would be beneficial for the industrial workers.
G Yavuz EROĞLU
Board Chairman of Turkish Plastics Industry Foundation (PAGEV)
round-breaking invention of the 21st century: Plastics... Light, flexible, sterile, transparent, strong, easily recyclable... Thanks to these unique characteristics they have, plastics have become one of the most important industrial branches in the world. It has reached the condition of a sector that is rapidly advancing on global scale with its figures and dynamism of growth. It has taken its place in a wide range from retail to construction, from automotive to white appliances and from health to energy sector. In addition, our Turkish plastic sector has the seventh largest production capacity in the world, while it ranks the second in Europe following Germany. Our sector is growing and renewing itself everyday with new technologies. Having a promising future, unfortunately our sector has difficulty to find skilled workforce. As PAGEV, we have accelerated our studies in order to put an 'end' to this problem. While we are growing new workforce with our schools on the one hand, on the other hand we are conducting projects in order to the increase the occupational knowledge and competencies of both the sectoral workers and those who desire to work in this sector. One of these projects is the Chemical Movetech Project in which we have taken part, and conducted the first module... Under the coordinatorship of İKMİB; the first e-learning modules of the "Chemical Movetech" project initiated in the year 2013 with the cooperation of PAGEV, Lithuania, Poland and Spain are ready. As PAGEV, we are quite happy to have participated in this important project that will support life-long learning in the field of chemistry as well as to have prepared and put at the disposal of our sector the plastic module. In addition to enhancing the occupational knowledge and competencies of our employees working in the plastic sector, we are also intending to ensure that they adapt to new developments related to their works through the plastic module of the project, which means “Stimulation of Opportunities in Occupational Education through Innovative Technologies”. With a single click, all of our users will be able to easily access to our videos and training kit which cover the topics of plastic production technologies, raw materials, additives, wastes, packages and work safety. Another one of the most valuable parts of this project is that PAGEV's training kit and videos will not only be offered to Turkey, but also to European plastic manufacturers. That is, we will train not only Turkish plastic manufacturers, but also the European ones. The technology is rapidly evolving across the world, and we need to keep pace with it. Thanks to this project, we are starting to use the method used in Europe in our own country. On this wise, we express our thanks to İKMİB for initiating the Chemical Movetech project and leading our sector. Our country needs such projects in order to attain qualified manpower. In the present time, growths should be added-value-oriented rather than production-oriented. Those who will provide added-value and carry the industry sector forward are the dear workers of our sector. I hope this project will set an example to other sectors.

6,6 Competence Centre is a Polish partner of ChemicalMOVETECH Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovation project. Our team was involved in all project phases (research, development, translations and testing) but the main expertise from our part was the designing and provision of e-learning platform based on Moodle and conversion of content modules into e-courses available on-line. 275 on-line courses were developed in 5 language versions. The final product was well appreciated by the Polish companies from chemical sector and they will use it in the future for improving the competencies of their human resources.

e are glad we could invite 20 chemical companies from paint, plastics, pharma and soap sectors to participate in the Chemical Movetech pilot trainings. 22 specialists - production engineers, quality managers, operators, occupational health and safety specialists - had a possibility to increase their skills and knowledge in the chemical sector market. The feedback received from the companies was very positive. The material of the courses was properly adapted according to their occupational knowledge and their learning requirements, and was easy to understand, well illustrated, an appropriate terminology was being used. The platform was modern, well structured, friendly to use, understandable and logical. These trainings will affect a better business performance and greater profitability, will increase the productivity of the chemical workers, enhance their motivation to participate in life - long learning processes. Chemical Movetech will contribute defining standards of technical skills development. It will encourage training providers, SME’s associations to use the material in their training activities, involving and informing trainer organizations and academic bodies so they can incorporate aspects of training materials in relevant courses.
What is? Chemical Movetech
Chemical Movetech, is the abbreviation of “Mobilising Opportunities in Vocational Education with Innovative Technologies”. Chemical Movetech is an EU project sponsored within the scope of EU Commission's Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) Leonardo da Vinci Innovation Transfer. Coordinated by İKMİB, the project was carried out between the dates of 1 December 2013 and 30 November 2015.
What is? General Objective of the Project
The Chemical Movetech project aims to help the workers of the chemical industry (especially those working for SMEs) gain the knowledge and skills required by the labor market by providing them with comprehensive, qualified and resultoriented electronic learning (e-learning) modules which can always be accessed online.
What is? E-learning E-learning environment is an advantageous learning method as; - It is mobile and reachable from different localizations, - It can updated quickly, - It provides the user with the opportunity to assess himself/herself, - It does not require students and the teacher to be in the same environment at the same time, and - It enables the use of such contents as videos and animations.

What are? there in the content of
the e-learning Platform?
In the Electronic Learning Platform, there are training modules for 4 occupational groups under three main categories including Plastics, Chemical Products (Paint and Soap) and Pharmaceutics. Every year, the number and the content of the training modules in each category will increase depending on the needs.
How is the electronic learning platform accessed
The Electronic Learning Module runs at the address http://chemicalmovetechportal.eu/, and can also be accessed through www.ikmib.org.tr and www.chemicalmovetech.eu/e-portal. The members of Ä°KMÄ°B and the project partners are the natural members of this electronic learning platform. Workers of the paint, pharmaceutics, plastics and soap industries and the students studying at the related departments of universities and vocational high schools will also be able to become a member of this training system, and take advantage of the platform if they desire.
