oan Dzuro, candidate for the Indio City Council held a fundraiser in the Rose Garden at the Empire Polo Club, hosted by Mr. Alex Haagen III, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Over 100 people came and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. The event was kicked off by Chris Lomali. The group then met Ms. Dzuro and learned what she hopes to accomplish if elected to the Indio City Council. Joan has been an involved community member since she and her husband, Bill, moved here in 2006.

Cheryll and her family at the Political Pop up at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Dahlin has participated in community events for many years, she is very active with social and school services. esde el pasado 4 de octubre y hasta el mediodía del 7 de noviembre, permanecerá abierta la ventanilla para la recepción de solicitudes de la Lotería de Visas 2018, sorteo que regala 55,000 residencias permanentes de Estados Unidos (‘green card’) entre unos 15 millones de concursantes de los cinco continentes.

¿Y cuándo sabrá si fue preseleccionado para pasar a la segunda fase del concurso? El Centro Nacional de Visas del Departamento de Estado ubicado en Kentucky le notificará en mayo del próximo año. Le enviarán un sobre a la dirección que anotó en la solicitud con la dirección de una página de internet y un paquete con

instrucciones. Si no ha enviado la solicitud, “todavía está a tiempo para apuntarse al Programa de Visados de Diversidad (DV)”, se lee en la página de la embajada de Estados Unidos en España. El sorteo fue creado por el Congreso en 1990 tras varios meses de discusión en ambas cámaras. A2

illones de extranjeros se preparan para participar en la Lotería de Visas, uno de los sorteos más grandes y populares del mundo, que regala 55,000 residencias permanentes (green card) de Estados Unidos. El Departamento de Estado (DOS) abrió el martes la ventanilla para la recepción de solicitudes de las ‘green cards’ que serán entregadas en el curso del año fiscal

2018. Se espera que en esta ocasión participen entre 14 y 15 millones de personas de los cinco continentes, teniendo en cuenta los niveles de participación de los últimos tres años. 1. ¿Cuándo termina el plazo para participar en el sorteo? La ventanilla se abrió al medio día del 4 de octubre y el plazo se cierra al medio día del 7 de noviembre. 2. ¿Cómo se lleva y envía

las solicitud? La solicitud de la Lotería de Visas (Formulario E-DVEntry Form 2018) se llevan y se envían por internet a una dirección habilitada por el Departamento de Estado. El gobierno de EEUU advierte que “no aceptará inscripciones que se hagan llegar por otros medios, ni las que se presenten después de la fecha de vencimiento”, es decir, el 7 de noviembre de 2016 pasado el medio día. A

s a candidate for reelection on the Indio City Council, Lupe brings with her a life time of the Indio experience as well as 12 years of serving the community in a leadership position. Born and raised in Indio, she brings with her the recollections of how it was, how it is and knows how it can be. Lupe has first hand experience of the Indio business community and has been active in Indio business with her own successful business enterprises. Aside from creating employment for others through her own enterprises, Lupe has and continues to expand employment opportunities for Indio resident. There are many major City investments she has championed which have led to a enhanced way of life for Indio including the Jackson and I-10 shopping Center, the Jefferson Freeway Interchange, the new, massive County of Riverside Administrative Center, the New College of the Desert building and campus in down town Indio the new Senior Center and Teen Center. Add to this the current renovation of community parks, her support of the under construction Riverside County Jail facilities and you have a glimpse of a surprisingly active City Council Woman and former Mayor. Lupe is dedicated to supporting law enforcement and fire service protection services and very conscious of the day to day needs of the Indio residents. The election is on Tuesday, November, 8th, residents will have the opportunity to select two leaders who will continue to formulate Indio’s progress and enhance Indios future. Lupe Ramos is certainly a main contender with the history and work ethic to serve the community well. Endorsed by a large list of Riverside County dignitaries and community leaders, Lupe looks forward in continuing her service to the community.

lenn Miller has been serving on the Indio Council since 2008. He has served as the Mayor of Indio twice and is currently the Mayor. Glenn has focused his attention on expanding the economic development base of the city. He tirelessly pursued the Small Business Development Center and was a leader in creating the Festival Atmosphere Indio enjoys. The festivals today in association with Golden Voice including Coachella Fest actually stimulate the economy of the entire Coachella Valley. As a consequence of the growing festival trends, there has been a tremendous need for lodging, Glenn has been instrumental in bringing in developers who have established the Fairfield, Garden Inn and the Hampton. These additions along with the new dealerships along the I-10 including the new Chrysler Dealership bring employment for the growing Indio community. Education has Been a huge focus for the Indio Mayor. Witness the expansion and new construction for Indio High School, the addition of the Cal State San Bernardino Campus in Indio and the new Law School. The City of Indio has been declared fiscally sound, there has been pension reform and the parks and streets are being addressed. Glenn is active with a dozen of Council assignments including the: Indio Water Authority, Public Financing Authority, Redevelopment Agency, Riverside County Transportation Commission and dozens of other relevant commissions associated with the successful growth of Indio. As a consequence of his professional training and career as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent, Glenn participates actively with the Golf Course Association where he is a certified member and a past board member. The City of Indio is being well served with Glenn Miller on the City Council, a member with a historical perspective of the city who envisions a lively growing city for our future generations. From a analysis perspective, Glenn Miller is highly recommended for your consideration on November 8th.
