La estrella sueca Zlatan Ibrahimovic anunció su retiro del fútbol a los 41 años. El delantero hizo el anuncio tras la victoria 3-1 del AC Milán sobre el Hellas Verona el pasado domingo. El club había anunciado previamente que celebraría una breve ceremonia para despedir al futbolista sueco.
“No puedo respirar pero está bien, tantos recuerdos y emociones dentro de este estadio. La primera vez que llegué me dieron felicidad; la segunda, amor. Quiero dar las gracias a mi familia y a mis seres queridos por su paciencia”, dijo un emocionado Ibrahimovic a los aficionados rossoneri en San Siro

En su carrera, el futbolista de 41 años jugó en el Malmö FF, Ajax, Juventus, Inter de Milán, Barcelona, AC Milan, París Saint-Germain, LA Galaxy y Manchester United. Ibrahimovic se retira como máximo goleador sueco de todos los tiempos, con 62 goles en 121 partidos internacionales.

AC Milan’s Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he has decided to re- tire from playing at the age of 41 after a trophy-laden career at some of Europe’s top clubs. Ibrahimovic’s Milan contract expires at the end of June and will not be renewed following a season plagued by injuries, prompting him to end a remarkable career.
The Swede arrived in Milan for a second spell in early 2020, having won the Scudetto with them in 2011, and helped the club win the title again last season. “I say goodbye to football but not to you,” he said after being feted by the San Siro crowd after Milan’s 3-1 win over Hellas Verona in their season finale last Sunday.
“The first time I arrived you gave me happiness, the second time you gave me love. I want to thank my family and those close to me for their patience.”
The larger-than-life striker started his career at Malmo FF in 1999 and left for Ajax Amsterdam in 2001 before embarking on a journey that has included spells at Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris St Germain, Manchester United and Milan.
Ibrahimovic, who is Sweden’s alltime top scorer with 62 goals in 121 matches, quit the national team after Euro 2016 but returned in 2021 for their unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign.
