Commitment to Sustainability
At Liberty, we are dedicated to crafting exceptional skis with the least amount of impact to our environment. We know that skiing and building skis are acts that inherently have some impact. We also know that being outside in the winter and personally experiencing the alpine environment increases the likelihood that people will want to protect those landscapes and the winter weather that makes skiing possible. We live and work in the mountains, and will do whatever we can to protect them as we enter our third decade of making innovative skis. Here are some of our initiatives:
• Transitioned over 90% of our production out of China to European based manufacturing partners, allowing Liberty to pursue more sustainable production practices and materials.
• New manufacturing has allowed us to switch the majority of our lines to FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified wood cores, ensuring sustainable, healthy and resilient forests.
• Adopted epoxy systems with at least 30% bio-based materials while still maintaining adhesion and impact characteristics as good or better than the petrochemical versions.
• Continued our industry leading 3 year warranty, reflecting our confidence in Liberty production quality and ensuring a long product life.
• Pursued ISO certification for our production partners to ensure the highest standards of production and work environment.
