Liberty has become the leader in bamboo ski construction over the last 2 decades, and we continue to bring innovation to every product in our line. Put a Liberty ski on snow and you will feel the difference.

Moso bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. Although giant bamboo is really a grass, it functions like an old-growth hardwood in our skis, but with better resilience and a much shorter growth cycle. In fact, with a growth rate of up to 1 meter per day, bamboo can be harvested in only 3-5 years (versus 50 years for many hardwoods), with the canopy and root system intact, allowing it to absorb more carbon than is released during processing. Further, the unique feel of bamboo, combined with high tech materials like carbon fiber and vertical metal alloy, allow Liberty to craft exceptionally responsive skis that are strong and light.

TECHNOLOGY AT THE CORE For a small company, Liberty consistently brings innovative technology to market in a way no other independent brand can. With our focus on functional innovation, every new design or material has to add to the way our skis behave on snow, not just marketing hype. In addition to our signature use of bamboo, carbon fiber, and poured polyurethane, Liberty developed and perfected Vertical Metal Technology®. VMT® uses thin vertical strips of metal alloy sandwiched between our hand-selected bamboo stringers and poplar wood. With the addition of pre-cured carbon fiber strips along the top of the core and poured polyurethane sidewalls, the result is a damp, light, and powerful ride in any snow conditions.
