DEBUT OF THE FIRST EVER

LAS COLINAS HOME TOUR

Six stunning homes were put on display for a great cause during the first-ever Las Colinas Home Tour, May 20th-21st. Nearly 300 attendees made their way through Cottonwood Valley, Fox Glen and University Hills to explore the exceptional architecture and landscape of Las Colinas’ residential villages.

Proceeds from ticket sales were donated to five local nonprofit organizations, selected by each homeowner, including the CD Mitchell Foundation, Irving Schools Foundation, Irving Symphony Orchestra,

Dallas CASA and Irving Cares.

A very special thanks to the gracious participating homeowners, incredible Home Tour committee and volunteers as well as esteemed event partners: AIA Dallas, Park Place Dealerships, Sainton Custom Homes, Las Colinas Realty Associates, The Mustang at Las Colinas, Republic Title, Goosehead Insurance - Lynn E. The celebration continues as we commemorate fifty years of Las Colinas with events and experiences throughout 2023

THE RETURN OF THE CARPENTER CUP

On Monday, May 8th a cherished event aced its highlyanticipated return. The “Carpenter Cup”, named after Las Colinas founder Ben Carpenter, is a golf tournament between the three clubs in Las Colinas – Hackberry Creek Country Club, Las Colinas Country Club and the Four Seasons – now the Sports Club of Las Colinas.

This year’s tournament was hosted at the Las Colinas Country Club where each of the three participating clubs fielded a team of 18 men and 6 women. Representatives from each club played in a threesome format using a stableford quota system to determine the 2023 Carpenter Cup Champion Club.

CACIQUE FOODS MOVES HQ TO LAS COLINAS

Cacique Foods, one of the leading brands in Mexican food products, has relocated their company headquarters to Las Colinas. Cacique made the move to deepen Texas connections and better serve customers in a centralized location, the company said. The food maker, known for its Mexican-style cheeses, cremas and chorizos, has at least one of its products in 80% of grocery stores across the United States.

JAVELIN ENERGY PARTNERS INKS ONE OF THE LARGEST OFFICE LEASES

Javelin Energy Partners is taking 70,000 square feet for its headquarters in the Las Colinas Corporate Center at the intersection of highway 114 and 161. A subsidiary of Crescent Energy, Javelin Energy is moving closer to DFW International Airport from its location on North O’Connor Boulevard in The Towers at Williams Square.

BOUTIQUE HOTEL PLANNED NEAR CONVENTION CENTER

The AC Hotel by Marriott will be built on a 2-acre site off of John W. Carpenter Freeway near Toyota Music Factory and Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. The hotel will have 147 rooms and will include a full-service restaurant, rooftop bar and more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

KELLY-MOORE PAINTS PRIMES FUTURE GROWTH WITH LAS COLINAS MOVE

Kelly-Moore Paints is moving their HQ from California to Las Colinas. For decades they have been based in San Carlos, south of San Francisco, but opened a North Texas manufacturing plant more than five years ago in Hurst. Kelly-Moore’s CEO said their Texas move is a jumping off point to spread through the eastern half of the country.

WEST SHORE HOME PLANTS ROOTS IN LAS COLINAS

West Shore Home, a rapidly growing home improvement company, cut the ribbon for its new western headquarters in Las Colinas on June 7th. Its new 80,000-square-foot headquarters will serve as the home base for all the company’s business west of the Mississippi River.

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RESTAURANT OPENINGS

Las Colinas is home to 230+ restaurants and three more have opened their doors recently. Cielito Mexican Flavors, Sickies Garage and Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar have opened to lots of buzz around the community. ABILITY CONNECTION EXPANDS TO LAS COLINAS

Ability Connection, a nonprofit that aims to enrich the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, relocated its training center and headquarters to a 30,000 square foot space located at 7880 Bent Branch Drive. The new facility features a sensory room, a fulfillment center, computer lab, classrooms and a fitness center.

IRVING CARES PRESENTS MAHALO, THE GALA

Irving Cares will host Mahalo, The Gala on September 15th at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. The event benefits Irving Cares and their mission to offer efficient and effective human services to Irving residents in need. Tickets include valet parking, dinner, two drink tickets, live music, access to raffles and more!

STRETCH LAB CELEBRATES OPENING

On April 26th, the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration for StretchLab Las Colinas, located at 5981 High Point Dr, Ste 110. StretchLab offers 1-on-1 assisted stretching by certified professionals. Their goal is to improve flexibility, movement, reduce pain and improve quality of life.

LAS COLINAS COMMEMORATED AT STATE CAPITOL

Recognition for Las Colinas’ 50th year made it all the way down to the Texas State Capitol! Many thanks to Senator Nathan Johnson and Senator Tan Parker for introducing a resolution in commemoration of Las Colinas’ 50th Anniversary on May 16th during the Texas State Legislative Session.

LCA NEWS AND UPDATES

Important reminder: All new construction and exterior property improvements must be approved by the Las Colinas Association Architectural Control Committee (ACC) before any work is started. This applies to residential and commercial properties located in Las Colinas.

Prior to starting a project, please first submit plans to LCA through the ACC submission form. This form and details about the submission process can be found online at lascolinas.org/submission-form

Required submissions include projects such as, but not limited to:

• Decks, arbors and patios

• Fences

• Flagpoles

• Landscape

• Retaining walls

• Roofing

• Signage banners

• Swimming pools

GET IT APPROVED BEFORE IT’S IMPROVED 2023 ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS

The 2023 Annual Assessments have been mailed to all Las Colinas property owners. If you have not received your assessment, please e-mail membermoney@lascolinas.org

For the second consecutive year, the Las Colinas Association Board of Directors approved an assessment rate decrease, setting the rate at $0.125 per $100 of the valuation. The assessment calculation uses the market value of the property based on the preceding year’s certified roll by the Dallas County Appraisal District.

The assessment payment deadline is July 1, 2023 with a grace period until July 31, 2023, after which payments will be considered delinquent.
