SUMMER VIBES It is hard to believe that we are already half-way through 2019. However, now that we are looking at the last half of the year, I feel it is the perfect time to look at our positioning in the current Las Vegas market. To date, 2019 has been somewhat of a unique year in our growing city. Typically one of our strongest seasons for buying and selling is the Spring. As a company, The Ivan Sher Group is on track to meet (or surpass) our previous year. However, this year the luxury market in Las Vegas has not been as active from a transactional standpoint. Simply put, less “Luxury Homes” have sold this year (year-to-date) than in the previous years. Also, I have seen an increase in the number of homes on the market (active inventory) as more people are choosing to sell their homes. This inventory increase is happening not just in Las Vegas, but throughout the country as well. That being said, I don’t see any of this as ‘bad’. To me, this feels like an organic correction to a market that has been scheduled for a downturn for quite some time. This short-term slowdown I believe to be our best solution in avoiding a more aggressive market adjustment. Lastly, to our friends in California, we are aware of your current state tax burdens. We are also aware of the billions of dollars of proposed taxes currently being voted upon. We are aware that there is another state income tax increase in place for you to pay 15% (and more), as well as, proposed taxes on things such as water usage, texting, etc... fear not, I have a solution. You may want to consider Las Vegas as an alternative. Your neighbors already are! BRUNO MARS If you missed out on the Grammy award-winning musician’s dates earlier this year, don’t fret: singer-songwriter Bruno Mars will be back for the full month of September with his blend of genre-blending, highly danceable pop tunes. This residency is at MGM’s Park Theater. DEF LEPPARD With heavy metal legends, Def Leppard playing Planet Hollywood in August and September, there really is something for everyone in Las Vegas. The shows will focus on the British-metal band’s most famous hits as the rockers continue to celebrate their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year. DRAKE The details of Drake’s residency are still being ironed out, but contemporary music fans should check the Wynn nightlife scene, where the Hip Hop star will be appearing periodically over the next two years. JANET JACKSON The ‘90s music revival continues with legendary Janet Jackson taking over MGM’s Park Theater for 15 nights in May, July, and August. Jackson’s “Metamorphosis” residency is a career retrospective oriented around the 30th anniversary of her acclaimed Rhythm Nation album. Rumor has it, Jackson invested heavily in the tech and visual accompaniments to the stage show, which would make this one of the city’s most epic summer dance parties. LADY GAGA ENIGMA + JAZZ & PIANO See nine-time GRAMMY Award-winner, Golden Globe Award-winner and Academy Award-winner superstar entertainer Lady Gaga’s Las Vegas Residency at Park Theater inside Park MGM resort. The Las Vegas Residency will consist of two separate shows: LADY GAGA ENIGMA, a brand-new odyssey of her pop hits built as an experience unlike any other in Las Vegas, and LADY GAGA JAZZ & PIANO, where she will perform stripped-down versions of her hits alongside music from the Great American Songbook.

TASTE BENEFITTING THE MIRACLE LEAGUE OF LAS VEGAS The Miracle League of Las Vegas is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The program provides children and adults with cognitive and/or physical challenges in the Greater Las Vegas community the opportunity to play baseball and soccer in a safe and nurturing environment. Spring and Fall Baseball & Soccer leagues are offered for more than 225 “differently-abled” athletes each season; players range in age from 3 years old to 70 years old. We have players of all different abilities many with muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, autism or Down’s Syndrome. In Baseball, all play, all bat, all score, with constant encouragement from staff and volunteers. In Soccer, all kick, all pass, all dribble, all score at least one goal, with the excitement found at any other sporting event. The Miracle League of Las Vegas proudly brings together nearly 1,000 community youth and adult volunteers annually, who are giving back to their community. Volunteer positions include player Buddies, registration desk and concession stand staffers, coaches, pitchers, game announcers, umpires, setup/cleanup crew members, photographers, and even website contributors.
