Jeanneau 379

New for 2012, and winner of the Boat of the Year Award, this stylish, family-sized cruiser features a fold-down transom for ease of access, twin helms, large cockpit, spacious interior with lots of storage, and a performance oriented hull with hard chine giving it both speed and stability. With main and genoa sheeting led aft to each helm station, and many other innovations throughout, the Jeanneau 379 is a pure pleasure to JEANNEAU 379 sail.
Leopard 46
Hanse 385
The new Sabre 426 MkII is a medium-displacement cruising yacht that offers the performance characteristics of lighter racing boats, yet provides considerably more cruising amenities. With an optional deep draft keel and Selden Spars aluminum tall rig to optimize sailing performance, and a varnished cherry and ultraleather interior, the Sabre 426 MkII is a beauty both under sail and at anchor.
A Morrelli & Melvin design, the Leopard 46 is a blue water cruising catamaran that combines spacious living accommodations, high quality fittings and great performance. The raised helm station is located in the hard top roof with open access to the cockpit and all controls lead aft for excellent visibility and ease of maneuvers. The starboard hull is entirely dedicated to the owner. The port hull accommodates two spacious guest cabins each with en suite head and separate shower.
LEOPARD 46
The new Hanse 385 is designed by Judel/Vrolijk (J/V) and is a performance cruiser with optimum space, efficiency and comfort. Among the key features of the 385 are the yacht’s striking looks, the best cockpit of any yacht in its class, clear decks with flush hatches, bright and roomy interior, and improved sailing performance. With twin-wheel steering, a long rudder, lead L-shaped keel and contemporary interior, the Hanse 385 represents performance cruising at its finest. HANSE 385
J/111
This new, fast, one design 36-footer from J/Boats comes with a comfortable cockpit, 6-ft head room and head-turning speed. For good reason it’s been one of the most successful launches of any new performance boat. The J/111 is sleek and speedy – the ultimate daysailing, racing and weekend cruising sailboat. This easy-to-handle sailboat accelerates quickly, slices to windward at 7+ knots and hits double-digit speeds downwind. J/111 Page 10 • Strictly Sail Pacific Show Guide • April 2012

NEW Boat Showcase Tartan 4000
The Tartan 4000 features handcrafted, solid stock cherry cabinetry befitting the finest sailing yachts built in America. The beauty of her varnished solid stock tartan 4000 cabin sole is simply striking. This is not your cookie cutter production interior found in mass-produced boats. The forward cabin is dedicated as the owner’s stateroom. It is opulently appointed with tongue and groove cherry hull sealings, extensive cabinetry, island berth and en suite head with stall shower. Her main cabin is the social center of the interior with comfortable sofa seating, a drop leaf table and furniture grade cabinets.
Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 509
Drawing on the latest technological advances in naval architecture and design, the Sun Odyssey 509 embodies all the aspects a Jeanneau owner desires. Designed by Philippe Briand, the Sun Odyssey 509 combines timeless design, exceptional seaworthiness and unmatched comfort. The high-aspect ratio sail plan allows for a large selection of different sails, and the rig can be adapted to a variety of different types of sailing. JEANNEAU 509
Harbor 30
W. D. Schock Corp. is pleased to introduce the all-new Harbor 30. Like the popular Harbor 20 and Harbor 25, the Harbor 30 was designed by Steven Schock to be a quintessential daysailer. It sports a Hoyt jib boom with roller furling, lazy jacks for the mainsail, and a huge cockpit, matched by a wonderful cruising interior. HARBOR 30
Catalina 385
The new 385 is the latest in the line of new Catalinas, and is an evolution of successful design features and proportions: moderate beam carried well aft for a spacious cockpit, moderate freeboard for reduced windage and pleasing appearance, and a beautifully finished interior. Great attention was given to ergonomics and classic styling. Features include long travelers for precise sail control, long inboard genoa tracks to accommodate a variety of headsails, contoured helm seating, molded instrument pods at the helm positions, conveniently placed winches, and a new backstay system. CATALINA 385
RS 100
Unofficially known as the “next big thing in singlehanded sailboats,” the RS 100 was officially named USA Boat of the Year in 2011. Built by RS Sailboats in England, RS 100 this singlehanded hiking dinghy features an epoxy sandwich hull, carbon fiber spars, and an asymmetric spinnaker. Every detail has been refined to create a boat which is fast, beautiful, and fun to sail. With an international class association and boats being sailed around the world, the RS 100 is truly a worldclass performance dinghy.
Beneteau Sense 43 The luxurious Sense 43 features full Raymarine electronics, bow thruster, electric windlass, electric winches, freezer and refrigeration, furling main, furling headsail, stereo, detailing and more.

d ne isp St w la op so y b n for y o th th u e e r ne la w te J/ st 70 !
Fingertip Control at 18 knots...YES! J/111 is one of the most successful global J Boat launches ever. And with good reason.....this boat flies. J/111’s recent successes sailing offshore attest to the J philosophy that more speed with fewer crew often leads to silverware, too. Class wins in the Chicago-Mackinac Race, Around Island Race (Isle of Wight), Spinnaker Cup, Key West Race Week, Warsash Spring Series and a class sweep of the Bayview-Mackinac Race point to the J/111’s versatility, whether sailing in demanding upwind, downwind or reaching conditions. Owners are quick to remark about the J/111’s ability to accelerate and sail close to the wind speed in light air, and how quick it planes at double-digit speeds when the wind pipes up. Said one owner, “this boat had the fun meter pegged in the ‘red’ all of Sunday afternoon on the Chicago-Mac. We had three consecutive drivers hit 18+ kts in 20-24 kts TWS and in full control. The boat just likes to go fast with none of the drama we’ve dealt with on previous boats.”
With a mainsail on slides and a furling jib, one can be sailing in minutes, and a crew of two can set, jibe and drop the asymmetrical spinnaker. The seakindly hull with high righting moment and an efficient sail plan (no genoas), make the J/111 the most versatile high performance boat on the market – able to be sailed by a pick-up crew in the evening beer-can race or double-handed to Bermuda. J/111 is the next generation onedesign that fits the J Boats formula for one-design success...a boat that is easily sailed FAST and confidently by just about anyone in the family. The icing on the cake is the comfortable sit-in cockpit and spacious interior with standing (6') headroom. Sailboats that are easy and fun to sail are sailed more often. The J/111 is a boat that will bring great joy to its owners for many years to come.

The seminars are taught by highly-respected sailing authors, technical experts and well-seasoned sailors, and cover a wide range of topics. Newcomers and advanced sailors alike will find plenty of topics to expand their horizons, covering everything from learning how to get started in sailing to general boat repairs, living aboard, circumnavigation, and much more! SEMINAR PRESENTERS AND TOPIC HIGHLIGHTS John Arndt
John Arndt is a lifelong sailor and associate publisher of Latitude 38 magazine, and founder of Summer Sailstice and www.sailsfbay.org. John will discuss how the America’s Cup will bring tremendous excitement and attention to the Bay Area sailing scene and how the many sailing organizations – marine businesses, yacht clubs, high school sailing, junior sailing and maritime preservation groups – will translate the attention of the Cup into lasting participation in sailing. JOHN ARNDT
Clipper Round the World Yacht Race Skippers
What does it take to skipper a 68-ft Clipper Round the World Race Yacht? At 40,000 miles, the world’s longest yacht race is a big challenge for every crewmember – all of whom are ordinary people achieving extraordinary things. Join some of the Clipper Race skippers to hear more about their journey, the adventures in the race and how they plan to achieve success ahead of the race finish in July 2012.
Bob Bitchin
Want to know what it’s like sailing the Caribbean? Well, join Latitudes & Attitudes founder Bob Bitchin and his wife Jody on a circumnavigation of this portion of the Big Blue Ball we call Earth. As would be expected, this is no ordinary look at this part of the world. It is the slightly cockeyed view from the decks of Lost Soul, as they cruised the West Indies and all the favored ports of these great cruising grounds. Funny and never boring, this is a must if you plan on sailing the Caribbean, or just need a good laugh!
