TOPIC INTRODUCTION
In the mental disorders, certain parts of the brain are damaged, resulting in symptoms involving cognitive function, the content of thought, perception, emotion, behavior and biological function (e.g. sleep and appetite), and impaired overall functioning of the person. In severe situations, it can change the personality, social and interpersonal relationships of the paient.
Topic Issues Mental illness mainly caused by four predisposing factors, namely physiological factors, psychological factors, genetic factors and environmental factors. Being in this intensive environment like Hong Kong, livelihood, study and work will be fraught with stress and cause many emotional sequelae. According to some statistics, one out of every seven people in Hong Kong is suffering from mental illness distress. Most people are a bit misunderstood about mental illness, thinking that mentally ill patients must be insane, erratic, dangerous people. But this is not the case, mental illness is actually divided into many kinds, the severity of the disease, the impact on the daily life of patients are different. And we often hear depression, bipolar disorder and other emotional disorders are a kind of mental illness. But precisely because of these misunderstandings, some patients are afraid to face up to the problem, fear of being discriminated against, to form greater repression, to aggravate the disease, which may lead to a serious risk of life.
