I was given the option to study of a daytime or evening. This flexibility helped me to combine my work commitments and study. My teacher always gave very useful feedback and was very prompt in marking my assignments, as well as giving me invaluable guidance on further study routes. The course has definitely helped me to become more efficient in my current role as Finance Manager.”
Mudiyappu Sandaroyes Lewis decided to do the HNC in Computing as an alternative to going to university. The course provided him with the opportunity to become a Technical Specialist for a national banking group. Lewis said: “I believe that everything can be achieved if time and effort are applied. Time to Shine After completing his Level 3 in Graphic Design, Josh decided to remain at Warrington & Vale Royal college to study towards his HNC, also in graphic design. “I wanted to stay nearby, and the college is local to me. I wanted to study a course that was of university level, but remain local, so I decided to stay nearby with teachers that are really good!” Joseph explained. Joseph advises prospective students to find something you like and just do it. In the future Joseph would like to work as a brand designer and create logos for big corporations.
Josh Woodward Nicola Kavanagh enjoys the friendly Winsford campus to study for her HNC in Applied Arts. “It has been a long time since I last studied, so coming to the Winsford campus doesn’t feel daunting. The teachers give you lots of support. They are experienced and know their subject well.” Nicola, who wishes to become an independent maker in ceramics, has really enjoyed being exposed to lots of different art mediums, as well as the opportunity to learn about various artists. Nicola added: “Anyone would enjoy the course here. The environment is so nice and very well equipped.”

Instead, she chose to return to Warrington campus and enrol on to the Performing Arts HNC. Shannen said: “It’s very exciting, every day is different and you can truly be yourself. You’re required to be a lot more independent on the HNC compared to the Level 3, yet you still receive the amazing support and guidance from the teachers.” Shannen hopes to progress on to the Performing Arts HND and eventually complete a PGCE to become a qualified performing arts teacher.
Shannen Stocks Chloe completed her HNC Travel & Tourism with Warrington & Vale Royal college so decided to stay on to complete her HND in Travel & Tourism Management to gain further knowledge. Course information Each year, a Higher Education and Professional prospectus is produced. Our printed prospectus is intended to provide an overview of our programmes of study and the college. It is written well in advance of the start of the academic year and therefore the information within the printed prospectus reflects the courses as they are at that time. Every effort is made to ensure the content of the prospectus is accurate but it is possible that some changes may occur between the date of printing and the start of the academic year to which it relates. Our online factsheets contain the most up-to-date course information so please check on our website or with our Learner Services team in college before you apply for a place and again before you accept your offer. We regularly update our factsheets so that our published course information is accurate and up to date.
Fees Tuition fees relate to a single academic year only. Students undertaking courses of more than one year duration will be required to pay further fees at the start of each academic year. Tuition fees are set at the start of the course and will not increase for the duration of your course. Course fees may be subject to an inflationary increase and/or an increase due to changes in the law or government requirements. You may be required to pay additional costs to allow you to fully participate and complete your course. The additional costs may comprise materials, equipment, printing and awarding body membership which are not included in your tuition fee payment. You are personally responsible for ensuring that the tuition fees for your course and any other charges for your studies are paid in each academic year of your programme. Where a third party, such as a sponsor or the Student Loans Company (SLC), is responsible for payment on your behalf, you must ensure that they pay. If the third party fails to pay all or part of the tuition fee, you remain responsible for the payment of any shortfall.
Changes to courses Our programmes are subject to review and development on an ongoing basis. The college makes all reasonable efforts to deliver the programmes of study described in publications and other college documents. However, the college in some circumstances may be required to make changes, which may include but are not limited to:
• The course curriculum/module – reviewing and refreshing optional modules. Optional modules listed are indicative and may be subject to change. We do not guarantee that an optional unit will always run in any given academic year, as options may be dependent on student choice, numbers and staff expertise. • Additions/changes to mode(s) of delivery; altering the location of the course. For example, following campus consolidation to allow the college to provide the best facilities and academic provision to students. • Suspension or cessation of a course. In making any changes, the college will aim to keep them to a minimum in order to achieve the required quality of experience and will usually notify and/or consult with affected students/offer holders (as applicable) about changes that are required. The college will only close courses when it is not financially viable to run them or if the student experience is compromised. The college will inform applicants and students at the earliest opportunity of any significant changes to, or suspension/cessation of, a course, particularly when this occurs between the offer of admission and enrolment.

It is important to both students and staff to know that such complaints will be dealt with seriously and transparently, and without fear of recrimination. To ensure that this happens, the college has in place a Complaints and Compliments Policy, which details procedures for making a complaint, alongside what action may be taken in response to complaints. If you have a complaint about our recruitment or admission process, please see our Admissions Procedure for further information.
