Colour mood board analysis

Colour mood board

This is the mood board of colours I created to suit my target audience. After analysing my survey results, I could see that the top four colours voted for the colour scheme were black, red, grey, white, blue, and purple. I think those colours are appropriate for this type of magazine because though the magazine needs to be mainly black and white, I can include splashes of bright colours to make the magazine more interesting. Equally, I don’t want to use too many different colours because it could make the magazine too overwhelming. Using one or two dominant colours is good because readers then start to associate those colours with your magazine. It makes it easier for people to recognise your magazine if they know what colours they’re looking for. The colours chosen for this magazine suit the type of magazine nicely. They’re darker colours, which go with the fact that this magazine is supposed to be alternative. These colours appeal to the right scene.
