PROJECT 1: EL DORADO: EXPLORING THE MYTH This project is a collection of wall art, wallpapers and soft fabrics inspired in the ancient legend of El Dorado. Its purpose is to create a visual parallel between the esthetics of pre columbian craftsmanship and the delicate patterns of microchips and circuit boards found in modern technology.
The collection makes emphasis on the manual processes. Every one of the pieces is hand dyed at the workshop and screen printed with different binders. However, some pieces mix computer based techniques such as laser cut and CAD designing.
PROJECT 3: ARAMACAO HAND PAINTED SCARVES This is a personal project in which I got inspired on endangered species of Latin America. Illustrating animals and plants is one of my strengths, so I chose to mix two styles: detailed illustrations with painted foliage to create a fresh and fun product.
PROJECT 3: WILD DREAMS This project was inspired in Colombia’s most characteristic flora and fauna. The purpose of the collection was to create illustrations of my country’s biodiversity and translate them into a design context. To achieve this, I drew upon Photoshop and Illustrator and I turned my artwork into repeats in order to crate wallpapers. I also explores digital embroidery over digital prints. The result was a series of textiles filled with colour and life.

PROJECT 4: VICTORIAN R O YA LT Y This project was a commission from Chinese company Mendale. They wanted a collection of prints inspired by the city of London, this is why I was inspired by the Royal Kew Gardens. One of the most emblematic elements of these gardens are the victorian greenhouses, the amazing variety of plants and the peacocks that roam free. Using these three components as inspiration I created one Toile de Jouy as the main pattern, two secondary patterns and a dozen illustrations.
PROJECT 5: HELICONIA DRESS
I was commissioned a dress for a wedding close to MedellĂn, Colombia. For this I chose to design a print with painted Heliconias in a dark blue background. Because the silhouette chosen had so much movement, I chose a very large scale for the print. This way the flowers blend with the shape and to see a different image from different angles.
PROJECT 6: PHR SCARVES This scarf was commissioned by PHR, one of the largest law firms in Colombia with multiple international clients. The only requisite was to use the three greens in their colour palette. The final design was inspired in the flora and fauna of the region where the firm is based, using the colours provided and some accents of orange and yellow to complement the composition.
