Program Note Looking Forward was written during my senior year as an undergraduate student, after I had just decided that I would apply to schools for a masters degree in composition. At this point in time, composing was still feeling quite brand new, and what came with that was a newfound excitement into this branch of music that I wanted to know more about. Looking Forward is about the anticipation of pursuing this new direction.
