The weekend gardener Rosemary weathers all

Terry O’Shaughnessy Special contributor

I think it was Shakespeare who said that rosemary is for remembrance.

But it seems that it might also be for ¼ ( : ¼ gardeners, that is. Ungrateful, forgetful gardeners who, though nameless, ! bush of this tender herb out on the snowy balcony where it nevertheless ! 1938 - 2019

His viewing will be held at the Belvedere Funeral home, Senneville, Qc, on Thursday, November 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. His funeral service will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church on Friday November 22nd at 2pm.

Raised in Val d’Or, Quebec Richard was the youngest of four children. He is predeceased by his brother Don, and sisters Mary and Ann. Having been predeceased by his first wife AndrĂŠe Trudel in 1982, Richard leaves behind his wife of 34 wonderful years Carol McGarry, daughters Debbie (Henry Glavic), Joanne (Marc Bourque), his son Darcy and daughter-in-law Sonia, grandchildren Philip, Michelle, Sarah, Emilie and Alec, niece Mary-Jo, nephew Robb, and many other family members and dear friends. Dick will be forever remembered for his good-naturedness, kind heartedness and witty sense of humour. After working for Canadian Timken for 32 years, Dick started his own business Rocnor Percussion in 1993 which he proudly and successfully ran until his final days on earth. His slogan was: “If you don’t know Rocnor, you don’t know Dickâ€?. Dick’s laughter and sense of humour brought light and smiles to those he knew. His hobbies included golf & curling at Whitlock GCC, boating at the Hudson Yacht Club, traveling, good food and drink. He selflessly gave of his time to elderly loved ones in their final years. Dick lived life with joy, compassion and integrity. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NOVA Hudson. Thursday, November 21, 2019
