WILD GAME SUPPER When generosity aligns with fun and good food: over $33,000 raised for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence! Some 230 guests gathered at Cabane Marc Besner in Coteau-du-Lac for the 14th edition of this event, once again presented by Diane Joly, President of Groupe DPJL Assurances Inc. Between the clinking of utensils on plates and the delectable aromas of duck breast and Tomahawk pork, laughter ďŹ lled the air while country music provided the atmosphere, a bounty of $20 bills overowed for the purchase of gift boxes, nine generous donors joined the ranks of the Residence’s Ambassadors and other equally generous guests bid on and/or purchased the items up for auction. All in all, it proved to be an incredible show of generosity and a fabulous feast! The Gastronomic and Wild Game Supper helped raise a little over $33,000 for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation (VSPCRF).

The weekend Gardner The soup garden Terry O’Shaughnessy Special contributor

The fall clean-up provides a great opportunity for gardeners to plan for next year—and top of my list in this regard will be to grow a soup garden. Designated theme gardens are all " , $ 2 # F !" spaces all in one colour. So why not ( ! next summer – and reap the rewards in autumn, the season of all the delicious harvest things that go into it. Of course, what your plant in your soup garden will depend on what tempts you taste-wise. A tomato soup lover will need a # < ! !" and some herbs like basil or chives, for garnish. A chicken soup lover will need some onions, baby carrots and parsnips, and perhaps some thyme and rosemary to add to the mix. And then there is the queen of the fall ! ! Democratically serving the public interest.

Judd Kennedy White May 20, 1942- October 14, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Beloved Judd at the young age of 77 years old suddenly and peacefully at home in his sleep. Judd was recently diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment. Judd is survived by his ex wife Lois, his 3 children Tara, Jason, Holly, his sister Jann, his niece Sheri, nephew Jamie, his cousins Heather, Del, Lee, Judy & Ann , his current girlfriend Elise, her daughter Natania, son in law Travis, their 2 sons Logan & Koda. Judd and his brother Jimmy spent their childhood on their family farm in Plaster Rock, NB with their Mother Olga while their father Robert served in the 2nd world war. After the war the family moved to Montreal where Jann was born and eventually moved to Beaconsfield where Judd made long term friendships that lasted throughout his lifetime. Judd worked in his Father’s business “Detrick Company of Canada Limited in the steel industry and later opened his own successful company “Canada Kalprotect Ltd. Judd eventually settled in Hudson with his wife and children and was a longtime member of the Hudson Yacht Club. Judd was known for his raw uncensored humour and he would send daily emails to everyone in his contact list. He was a great neighbour and friend willing to help-out whenever anyone was in need. He loved nature from a coral reef to a walk in the woods to feed the local birds. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and wildlife. Please join us for a “Celebration of his Life at the Hudson Yacht Club on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2:00 Pm to 6:00Pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Nova Hudson.
