Lausanne Board of Trustees Lausanne welcomed five new members to the Board of Trustees at the start of the 2020–2021 school year. These individuals are highly respected by the Lausanne community for their leadership, thoughtfulness and dedication to our school and to the broader Memphis community.
Mike Derrick
Igal Elfezouaty
Michael G. Derrick is an attorney with Shuttleworth PLLC where he has practiced law for 27 years. Before entering private practice, he was Vice President and Counsel at Willis Corroon Nashville. Mike is a Fellow in the American College of Coverage Counsel, a Fellow in the Memphis Bar Foundation and a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Civil Mediator. He currently serves as a Commissioner on appointment by the Tennessee Supreme Court to the Tennessee Lawyer’s Assistance Program and sits on the board of directors of the TLAP Foundation.
Igal has been a serial entrepreneur since an early age. He holds an extensive background in agro related investments with a heavy focus in intensive horticulture and floriculture and holds the position of CEO and founder of Flower Business Park Ltd, Chairman and founder of Panda Flowers Ltd, co-founder of Plantech Kenya Ltd and founder of Aren Investments LLC.
Mike, a University of Tennessee alumnus, and wife Amy, a Florida Gator alumna, live in Germantown. They are blessed to have daughters Virginia ’21, who promises to attend neither Tennessee nor Florida, and Ashle’, who is currently overseas working on her PhD.

Active in numerous social and environmental organizations for the past 20 years, Igal’s initiatives include Fair Trade Certified Flowers (Member), Naivasha Women’s Health Care Center (Member and Contractor) and Naivasha Children’s Shelter (Trustee), a rescue, rehabilitation and family reunification center focused on health, education and affordable housing in Kenya.
Igal is married to Melissa Keng, who was an active parent within Lausanne Parent Connections (LPC) during their time at Lausanne, holding roles including Lausanne Auction Chair and Fall Carnival Chair three years in a row. Melissa is the co-founder of Kitty City, a cat rescue shelter serving Memphis and surrounding communities. Igal’s hobbies include, mentoring startups, offshore fishing and smoking beef. They are proud parents to Rachel and David, who both attended Lausanne from 2007-2015. Igal and Melissa are committed to seeing Lausanne expand, improve and offer more learning opportunities to the children of Memphis. They are proud parents of Rachel ’15 and David ’18.
Eleanor French Eleanor French has been with International Paper for 20 years and is currently the Director of Finance & Strategy for their North American Container business. She has a Masters of Business Administration from Wayne State University and received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University Bloomington with a major in Business Marketing Management. Prior to joining International Paper, she held several finance positions within the banking industry. Her current responsibilities include oversight for the finance function in North American Container for 180 facilities in the US, Mexico and Chile. Eleanor serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Memphis and is a member of the Lausanne Finance Committee. She enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Eleanor and her husband, Stephan French, have two sons, Stephan II ’20 and Brendan ’23.
