Summer is finally here and with it we celebrate a brilliant start to 2022 which has seen us consistently stage exceptional live shows inside our stunning venue. We can’t thank you enough for supporting us over the last few years and coming back in record numbers. We’d love you to visit us during the daytime as we open a brand-new exhibition this June called The Day the World Came to Huddersfield. 41 years ago a big moment happened for our town, London Pride came to the north for the first and only time to rally with us for equal rights. We’re hosting an exhibition celebrating those who were there on the day and members of the LGBTQ community now. It will sit alongside our longstanding exhibition of The Half by Simon Annand, which features famous actors moments before they take to the stage. This June we’re co-producing an original show alongside Lawrence Batley Theatre’s own Storytellers ThickSkin Theatre. From the same team
as the five-star reviewed How Not To Drown back in 2019, Blood Harmony tells the tale of three sisters who are lost in a moment of time and how they work to build back the bonds of their family. Featuring the music of The Staves, this original production is co-directed by the National Theatre’s Jess Williams and Frantic Assembly’s Jonnie Riordan. Be the first to see this phenomenal show at home, before it goes on tour. Summer in the Courtyard is back, join us for outdoor shows and chilled afternoons listening to live music with your friends. If you’ve ever been curious about what it’s like behind the scenes, join us on a backstage tour, led by one of our team of experts you’ll get to hear all the secrets of our space as well as the history of our phenomenal building. Beside these highlights, there is plenty more to see! We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Bunnington WI is a bit down-at-heel. Dwindling membership means they can barely afford the hall, let alone a decent speaker. So when a PR guru becomes a member, the women are glad of new blood. Initially.
Hayley’s sunny, beloved dad was the nation’s favourite weatherman. He could make a typhoon sound like a tickle. Hayley is now following in his footsteps, but when the pressure drops and dark clouds gather, Hayley is melting faster than a lonely snowflake. She’s seen the future’s forecast, but will anyone listen?
Above all else, like the WI itself, Raising Agents is a story of friendship. 8
Running year round, our Young Company offers young people aged 6 –17 weekly workshops to help develop their performance and creative skills. Each half-term our passionate Young Company leaders focus on a specific theatre-related theme building up to an informal sharing for parents, carers, family and friends. Previous sessions have seen the young people work towards creating their very own murder mystery play, radio play and pantomime.
