SI is another form of tutoring that provides multiple students with exposure to a tutor (also called Supplemental Instruction leader) for a one-hour session following a course discussion or lecture. SI is typically offered for larger lecture-based classes. With SI, the Supplemental Instruction leader sits in lecture and then facilitates a study group, which provides learners with a time to collaborate, discuss and practice material discussed during lecture. No appointment is necessary with SI, and students are encouraged to stop by one of the many groups offered throughout the semester. Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction should be utilized as a proactive approach to student success. Students are able to schedule multiple meetings, attend various SI sessions and are encouraged to begin planning early. Learn more at slu.edu/x35333.xml.

+ CAREER COUNSELING Career development specialists provide career counseling and career assessments to help students through the career decision-making process. Career counseling helps individuals understand how their interests, personality, abilities, skills and values relate to a career path. Our career specialists have the knowledge to help students learn more about the working world while taking them through the exploration process to arrive at a career decision that is right for them. Career development specialists also take students through the job search by helping them develop great resumes and cover letters, teaching them about the interview process and educating students on developing a successful job search plan.
