NEW STUDENT VISITOR CENTER SLU’s New Student Visitor Center, located in Queen’s Daughters Hall opened prior to the start of the fall 2015 semester. Restorations, technology improvement; and expanded visitor parking lot started in December 2014 were completed the end of July 2015. HISTORY OF QUEEN’S DAUGHTERS HALL Originally built in 1890 as the Euston Mansion, the building was later purchased to provide a safe environment for working Catholic women of St. Louis from the time of the 1904 World’s Fair through the Depression era. The female residents called themselves the “Queen’s Daughters.” This ornate and turreted, three story limestone building has a blended French Romanesque revival and Victorian style design with interior rooms feature handcrafted ceilings and highly detailed woodwork.
