Research + Researchers in the health sciences at SLU were awarded 376 grants, contracts and subcontracts totaling $44.3 million from agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Centers for Disease Control and other government sources, private industries, associations and foundations. + SLU is one of only seven Catholic universities designated as a research university (high research activity) by the Carnegie Foundation.

More than 200 students from more than 50 universities across the United States study abroad at SLU-Madrid each semester. Students at SLU-Madrid take classes that complete core, major or elective requirements, allowing them to continue their academics within the U.S. education system while studying abroad. They also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture via on-campus and off-campus activities, service opportunities and the Host Family Program. The campus is located in the university area of Madrid with easy access to the historic city center and many Spanish public and private universities. In addition to a cafeteria, library and high-speed wireless Internet access, facilities include biology, physics, chemistry and computer labs. + Undergraduate Degree offerings: Art History, Business Administration: Economics (B.S.), Business Administration: International Business, Communication: International Emphasis, Economics (B.A.), English, International Studies, Political Science: International Relations, Psychology, Spanish
