Milan, Torre di Luce (i.e. Tower of Light), sponsored by Audi Martini puts all its know-how at the disposal of customers in helping them to find tailored and innovative lighting solutions. Our ability to master technology and group all production processes within the company enables us to create highly performing and customised solutions, with reliable lead times. Milan, Christmas 2010: in the centre of Milan - Piazza Castello - a 30-metre high tower of light based on the project by architect Luca Trazzi. Approximately 80 luminous panels mounting RGB LEDs, size 120x60 cm, vary their colour according to a sophisticated lighting scheme. The “Sheet� luminous sheets are powered by solar panels mounted on the tower itself. An AUDI-dedicated space lies at the base of the tower to promote the company's leading car models: it is entirely illuminated with MARTINI LED fixtures. Project: Luca Trazzi - Milan

The new Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena Located on the site of Enzo Ferrari's place of birth and home, a new museum steeped in history yet futuristically designed thanks to its cutting-edge technological solutions. MARTINI is the partner company for all the lighting solutions. Project: FUTURE SYSTEMS Studio in London, by architects Jan Kaplicky and Andrea Morgante.

Production technologies and the environment MARTINI designs, develops, engineers and manufactures all products in the catalogue in its own offices and plants, while displaying special care and attentiveness towards the environment coupled with sensible, logical behaviour and investments. The products are manufactured in the production plant located in the province of Modena, thereby enabling us to optimise materials procurement and production processes. Raw material purchases are grouped and scheduled so as to optimise and reduce road transport. Our coating plants implement water-based paint that ensures a 90% reduction in the use of solvents, for guaranteeing a healthier environment. The entire production cycle that leads to the finished product takes place in-house, which reduces the need for road transport as opposed to the use of multiple external suppliers. Our awareness has lead us to join GBC Italia (Green Building Council Italy), where we share common goals regarding responsible and sustainable architecture and receive important inputs from shared experiences. Because improvement is always attainable. Moreover, we believe that in order to promote a sustainable building culture based on energy-efficient buildings with limited environmental impact, we not only need highly performing fixtures but also low-impact production processes that safeguard the environment. Consequently, this helps to promote awareness to design in a broad sense that invloves the entire production cycle of the lighting fixture - from the initial idea to the fixture's conversion as recycled material, or its decommissioning.

The optics The computerised design of the optics allows for optimising their shape and finish according to the desired light distribution. The 99,98%-pure aluminium coating ensures a high reflection coefficient. The various optics are designed to satisfy the different requirements of a carefully-studied lighting project. Should these requirements change, the reflector can be replaced with a simple click, thanks to the spring-based locking ring.

The use of advanced computer-based modelling systems for comparing the range of possible solutions, prototyping for verifying the reliability of solutions and the total belief in the project's value have led us to develop a new LED-based lighting concept.

EDA (Enveloping Dynamic Air) The die-cast aluminium EDA (Enveloping Dynamic Air) heat dissipation system is designed to create a flow of convective air that brushes the heat dissipating surface and ensures optimal LED operation. This innovative system ensures that the flow of air passes through the fins, regardless of whether the heat dissipator is positioned vertically or horizontally. Pendant or oriented fixtures offer clear examples of how a thermal project must adapt to the various installation situations and always guarantee the reliability of the implemented technology.

The absolutely innovative aspect of this project is the possibility of choosing the spectrum of the light source. A first step consists in selecting the LEDs to be used, thus various LEDs can be blended to obtain different basic light spectrums, depending on specific requirements. In addition, a switch mounted on the fixture allows for dimming uniform LED groups so as to modify the spectrum and colour temperature.

General features and technical details Aluminium fixture based on LEADER technology, with 3 mm thickness, equipped with 18 W and 6 W LED ARRAY. The screen-printed and transparent protective screen has a diameter of 50 mm and roto-symmetrical light distribution with 110째 beam opening angle. The electronic ballast is remote and must be ordered separately. The product can be installed on plasterboard surfaces by completely recessing the heat dissipation system so that only the 50 mm diameter optic part of the LED remains visible. It can also be installed on masonry walls and ceilings by placing the heat dissipation system under the plaster so that only the optic part of the LED remains visible.

Perla GM LED 50 and 111

General features and technical details The fixtures are either totally recessed or equipped with a closing bezel. Aluminium body manufactured by means of a spin-forming and laser-cutting process. The optical assembly is secured using a PPS support with bayonet mount and fixed through a stainless steel spring. The die-cast aluminium EDA (Enveloping Dynamic Air) heat dissipation system is designed to create a flow or convective air that brushes the dissipating surface measuring 77,048 mm2 (15,931 mm2 in the 50 version), and ensures optimal LED operation. The product is equipped with a self-restoring thermal protection.

General features and technical details Professional spotlight with dedicated and customisable spectrum. Sistema Decimetro the floor lamp

General features and technical details Fixture composed of a steel structure coated by means of a special water-based treatment that ensures a 90% reduction in the use of solvents. In order to ensure maximum efficiency, each single LED is equipped with a pyramid-shaped reflective glossy aluminium reflector. A special prismatic screen is fixed against the multiple reflector: together with the optical project, it allows for achieving a highly original visual effect. The electronic ballasts mounted on the fixture allow for achieving various LED power outputs. Analogue dimming of the LEDs with the 0-10 V system is possible. The floor lamp is 1.8 m high and 30 cm wide; the full-metal base measures 40x40 cm and is 1.5 cm thick. The product makes a stunning impression thanks to its extreme elegance and stately appearance; the fixture's ultra-linear design and "scenic impact" alternate in a constant interplay where light eventually emerges victorious. The ballasts are housed in an inspectable compartment located in the base of the fixture, while dimming of the LEDs can be adjusted through an appropriate button. Also available in the RGB version.

General features and technical details The name itself, "Sistema Decimetro" (i.e. "Decimetre System"), denotes the idea of a smaller unit that multiplies to generate larger ones, with the following sizes: 30x30, 40x40, 60x60cm; within these proportions, the luminaires find their appropriate application. Alternatively, several lights can be joined together to create entire illuminated walls. Totalling a thickness of 4+1 cm, the single fixtures can be installed recessed, semi-recessed or exposed, on either walls or ceilings. RGB Equipped with electronic ballasts for obtaining any colour by adjusting the single RGB LEDs. The PLUG SYSTEM connectors ensure rapid wiring.

General features and technical details The linear fixtures come in two sizes, namely 60 and 120 cm (10 cm width), and are flush-fitted. Also in this case the directivity of the forms blends with the inherent richness of the flowers of light. The resulting effect, rather than a mere blade of light, is a vivid and mobile surface. An extruded aluminium supporting structure allows for installing the DECIMETRO module recessed into plasterboard false ceilings, flush, or in technical false ceilings. Either single modules or continuous-row systems can be installed. The PLUG SYSTEM connectors ensure rapid wiring.

A product displaying rigorous design combined with strong personality. Cylinder-shaped aluminium fixture with 220 mm diameter and 1,800 mm height for the floor lamp version, and 600 mm for the bollard version. General features and technical details Round LED-based fixture with roto-symmetrical light distribution. Available in the 48 and 36-LED versions with roto-symmetrical distribution and 90째 beam opening angle. The body, the upper section of which is finned to increase the heat dispersion surface, is made of die-cast aluminium and includes a cap and bezel - both made of die-cast aluminium secured to the body by means of stainless steel fixing elements. The fixture's diffuser screen consists of a 3 mm thick PMMA structure that can withstand Class IK08 mechanical shocks.

Stilis Roto LED 48 / 36 LEDs

General features and technical details The product is equipped with an IP 44 valve through which air is released in the event of overpressure. The valve contains a water-repellent membrane that filters incoming air from humidity (when the product turns off), so as to protect all the internal components (LEDs, driver, etc.). The fixture's electronic control system (Driver) can be configured to adapt the current to the LEDs, which may be operate from 350 mA to 700 mA, depending on the model. The power supplied to the LEDs is distributed on 3/4 independent channels (depending on the model). The 3\4 independent channels have a LED circuit configuration based on SERIES wiring, in order to avoid current imbalances in the various branches. The product complies with the relevant light pollution regulations as it has 0 emission beyond 90 degrees. The product is able to memorise the settings concerning the operating profiles and all configuration parameters relative to the LED operating currents (standard feature). The fixture is configured (standard feature) for connection through a Wireless system with a touch-screen PALMTOP computer (available as an accessory), for modifying all the settings according to the user's own requirements.
