Hello Loafer Readers! Summer is officially gone and Fall is rolling in with some cool weather. We decided to begin each season with some wellness information. I have been taking a variety of vitamins suggested by my medical provider for a few months and I do have more energy than I have had in a long time. There has never been a better time to make sure that our bodies and minds are healthy. A healthy body is better equipped to fight off diseases and that nasty virus that is taking away so many of our loved ones. Please take some time to read the articles this week and learn more about the different ways to stay healthy. I have this thing I always tell my kids. We put fuel in our car before it runs out and we need to put good things in our body before it runs out of good health and energy. You may have already noticed a few changes in our paper and social media. Keep watching because there is more to come. I also have plenty of things to give away over the next few months so you don’t want to miss any of the contests. Please add your friends to our pages and help us grow bigger and better. Call or text us at 423-930-7319 if there is anything you would like to discuss for the Loafer. Thank you for your support!
God Bless Everyone!

Gray Fossil Site Volunteers Can Help Uncover the Ancient Past Individuals who would like to join East Tennessee State University’s worldclass team of paleontologists exploring the ancient history of East Tennessee are invited to volunteer this fall at the Gray Fossil Site and Museum. The Gray Fossil Site preserves the remains of an ancient pond containing fossils of rhinos, mastodons, alligators, red pandas and many other animals, as well as plants. Every year, the combination of field and lab work reveals thousands of new fossils, and most of this work is done by volunteers. This fall, volunteers are needed for the crucial task of screening – sifting through the ancient pond sediment to separate out fossils. This process is essential, since digging and lab work would both come to a halt without screening. Many of the site’s most researchworthy fossils are found via screening, including the exceptional remains of red pandas, turtles, rodents, wolverines, snakes, plant seeds and more.
This year’s volunteers will have the opportunity to screen material from the Gray Fossil Site’s most productive area in recent years – the Mastodon Pit – where excavation has uncovered new fossils of rhinos, alligators and snapping turtles, in addition to mastodons. Volunteer screeners will work in well-ventilated outdoor areas, with plenty of space for maintaining a safe social distance from others. Volunteers should be prepared to perform minor physical labor and to spend at least three consecutive hours working. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. No prior experience is required. This year, the field crew hopes to screen through 800 bags of sediment by the end of October, and volunteers can help them reach that target. Those interested should visit: etmnh.org/support/volunteer to learn more and access a volunteer application form, which they may complete and email to Shawn Haugrud at haugrud@etsu.edu.

I-26 Sullivan County Welcome Center Named Welcome Center of the Year The I-26 Sullivan County Welcome Center (Kingsport) was named Welcome center of the Year at the 2021 Governor’s Conference on Hospitality & Tourism on Sept. 16 at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Kingsport Welcome Center received an average customer satisfaction rating of 4.94/5 and a bi-monthly inspection rating of 99.5/100. The center features a Civil War exhibit in the cabin area, weather and traffic monitors in the lobby and a dog walk area. This year’s Welcome Center Award was accepted by longtime Kingsport Welcome Center Manager Ken Olinger, who will retire at the end of the month. Olinger has been with the department for 20 years. He began his career at the Bristol Welcome Center in 2001 and was promoted to manager of the Center in 2011. In 2014, Olinger was transferred to the Kingsport Welcome Center where he assisted with the startup of the newly constructed center. “I’m very excited to have my team’s work recognized,” said Ken Olinger. “Having worked for TDTD’s Welcome Center Division for 20 years, it has been a very rewarding experience having met people from all over the country and abroad. The guests appreciate a clean and safe center to stop, rest and enjoy. I’m very proud of
the work we do on the frontlines for our tourism industry.” “The I-26 Sullivan County Welcome Center in Kingsport always goes above and beyond to provide excellent service and first-class hospitality to the thousands of visitors that frequent the center each year,” said Tennessee Department of Tourist Development Commissioner Mark Ezell. “Our Welcome Centers play an important role in providing Tennessee’s visitors with the latest information on attractions, hotels and other development happening across the state. We are proud of Ken and the work of his dedicated team to go above and beyond to serve our visitors.” Tennessee’s Department of Tourist Development operates 16 Welcome Centers and maintains brochures in 19 res areas across the state. Both sets of facilities are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, except for I-40 Shelby County (Memphis) Welcome Center, which is closed every evening. All 16 Tennessee Welcome Centers are now open with onsite staff equipped with additional cleaning and sanitization processes in place. In addition, each of the Welcome Centers is equipped with a toll-free telephone system allowing travelers to make hotel, motel, and campground reservations anywhere in Tennessee, as well as free WI-FI.

Family Health and Wellness Ideas for Fall By [https://EzineArticles. com/expert/Jenni_ Foster/1437897]Jenni Foster Wellness is about a state of wellbeing and health in your family’s life. As the autumn season comes peeking around the corner, here are some fun & family friendly activities to keep everyone in your household staying active, healthy, and connecting with one another through health & wellness! Evening Walks The cooler weather of fall is the perfect time to begin a routine of taking an evening walk as a family. Walks are great for the entire gang, because the littlest ones can ride in a stroller or wagon and kids a little older can skip alongside or ride their trikes, bikes, skateboards,
etc! For even more wellness benefits, consider timing your walk between dinner and bedtime to aid in digestion of the evening meal as well as encourage good sleep for the night! Active Game Night Connecting as a family on a regular basis is vital to relationship health. Family game night is a great way to do this! Take it up one more notch by selecting active games each week! When the outdoor weather is beautiful, games like basketball, relay races, obstacle courses in the backyard, and trampoline time get you moving and enjoying the fall season. For days that are cold and wet, take the movement indoors with games like Wii Sports, classic Twister, or even a competitive dance party!
Outdoor Yard Cleanup For families with a lawn area at home, get the whole family involved in fall cleanup activities! Rake or blow the leaves into a pile and have a little fun jumping and playing together in it before removal. Other ideas include picking up trash and other yard waste or creating fun outdoor decorations for the home together! No yard at home? Take the cleanup fun to a local park, to a grandparent’s or other relative’s house or anywhere a little TLC may be needed! Charity Events Growing the connection that your family has with one another, as well as the community around you, is vital to a healthy state of mind! Consider teaming up as a family for an active charity event this year! Many organizations offer marathons,
runs and walks of all shapes and sizes, as well as other types of active competitions to get your heart pumping and your hand helping! Many families find that doing charity events together at least yearly helps to build character, their relationship with each other, and their community. What about YOU? What will motivate YOU to take positive steps to improve your health and wellbeing? Here at Doors to Wellness, we believe wellness is possible for everyone! It doesn’t matter what age you are. It also doesn’t matter what your gender or size is. The fact is all humans need the right levels of vitamins and minerals to lead healthy productive lives. This article will help educate you about the best use of supplements for better health.
Getting the right amount of nutrients for your body will help you feel better and look better, while at the same time keeping you healthy.
If you are working out regularly you will want to make sure you are getting enough vitamins and minerals to allow your body to recover properly. Your body needs appropriate nutrition to both recover from workouts but also fire up the metabolism you need to burn fat and maximise muscle. Any supplements with fat in them, such as your fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K will need to be taken with food. These need to be taken with food because food will make it easier to absorb the supplement. After strenuous exercise your body may start to ache. To ease this process try adding fish oil capsules and vitamin E to your diet. They should help you to relax
In today’s world, it is very important to add a high quality vitamin and mineral supplement to your daily routine. When you purchase food that has been overly processed, you are not going to get the essential vitamins that you need. There are many fruits, vegetables and meats which are full of nutrients. Unfortunately though due to crops being overly sprayed with pesticides, the nutritional value of the soil has gone down. Leading to a decease in nutrition in plants. These supplements are for those that cannot get the daily recommended amounts with just food. The starting point in any supplement journey is having your doctor test you for specific nutrient deficiencies. You need to figure out what you are deficient in, and what you need.
However though, there are a few things most people can do safely. Such as boosting your manganese intake. Manganese heals wounds quicker and helps bones form. It also aids the metabolic process. Manganese can be found in almonds and beans plus whole grains and black or green teas.

As far as CB1 receptors are concerned, they are found across your body. However, many are found in your brain as well. The ones found in the brain help with memories, appetite, thinking, mood, emotions, pain, movement and many other functions. And these are the receptors THC attaches to. On the other hand, CB2 receptors are quite common in your immunity system, and they have an impact on pain and inflammation. In the past, researchers believed that CBD2 receptors are the receptors that CBD attaches to, but now they know that CBD won’t attach to any of the receptors.

New Spay Neuter Clinic to be Built on WCJC Animal Shelter Property The Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter will open a new spay neuter clinic on the property in 2022 thanks to a generous donation from Judy and Doug Lowrie. The new 3,790-square-foot clinic will provide high-quality, affordable spay/ neuter surgery to the general public, with a special focus on shelter animals. Spaying or neutering cats and dogs reduces animal overpopulation and animal homelessness. It can also reduce some behavior issues and decreases the desire of animals to roam. In addition, altered animals live longer than their unaltered counterparts, and are protected from certain types of cancer. “We want to prevent unwanted litters of puppies and kittens from being born and coming into the shelter,” said Executive Director Tammy Davis. “We are committed to saving the lives of animals through spay and neuter.”

“As long time supporters of the shelter, Judy and Doug Lowrie’s support helped build the new state-of-the-art shelter in 2015,” said Jenny Brock, president of the Animal Control Board. “Their impact has been significant.” Since that time, the couple has played an active role ensuring that thousands of cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered before being adopted and also helped fund the shelter’s TrapNeuter-Return program. “Judy and Doug Lowrie are dedicated advocates for the shelter, bringing attention to the importance of getting animals spayed and neutered,” Davis said. “Their past and current donations have helped to remove some of the financial barriers the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter has faced as we work to provide

People throw that word around carelessly these days but over the years I have come to truly understand what love is and finally what it feels like. But growing up I never experienced it from my mother or father, aunts or Uncles, but I did from my grandmother who was, and still is, known as grandma birdie. As I grew I had few friends and even fewer family members. My father’s side of the family has always been a mystery to me, my mother’s side never saw us much so I married at the age of twenty three to a woman who I thought loved me and I she. I did love her and I was able to prove that love when she got sick mentally. I spent the last seven years of a ten year marriage trying to work and care for her and then like many times before she ran off except the last time was for the last time. I was heartbroken. Today I was approached by another there is some degree of success to single friend of mine with a question I my methods. get asked with a fair degree First, you need to turn off your of regularitynotifications. Treat online dating like “Of all of them, which dating apps a second job and limit the amount of should I be putting myself on?” consideration you give it to about an hour a day. Otherwise, you’re going I guess because I’m such a vocal and unapologetic user (or abuser) of to find yourself addicted to another online dating sites, some might view digital time suck, but worse than me as some sort of guru with insider others, this one will strictly bring you validation and attention from outside knowledge, which I can assure you based on my consistent track record sources and we don’t need that. of failures is absolutely not accurate. However, I will say I have gained quite a bit of personal experience with these things, and I don’t mind to share some of the lessons I have learned along the way in the name of sparing someone else the headache.
My first and most solid piece of advice is that it is all just a numbers game, so you better be ready to commit some time to exhausting yourself on dates. As much as I would love to tell you you’re going to quickly meet compatible people on these things since you can already read about shared interests and photos, just like every other social media platform, people for the most part are only going to share their highlights. I would say at least 90% of the men I go out with list themselves as “casual drinking, nonsmoking, Christian conservatives” but by the time our first date is over they’re drunkenly bumming a cigarette with one hand while trying to grope me with the other between curse words and dirty jokes. I guess I just have that effect of men.
Next, narrow it down to 2 platforms max. Depending on what you’re seeking to gain, certain apps are better than others. If you want something more serious you may want to look into a service that requires payment like Match, which tends to attract people who genuinely want to meet someone. For your average person I think that Bumble and Hinge attract at least some people who pretend to be interested in more than just the physical. But if you strictly want booty or a free meal, Tinder is the way to go.

in many forms. I can’t tell you how many lasting relationships I’ve made with guys who, even though the romance wasn’t there, have become great friends. Best case scenario, you find someone who adds positivity to your life in some form or fashion. Always keep your best interests at the forefront and ALWAYS listen to your gut. There is a fascinating new documentary playing on Netflix about well known painter and television star Bob Ross. "Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed" follows the famous painter from the start of his career in painting until his untimely death at the age of 52. For the uninitiated, Ross hosted a half-hour instruction show on PBS from 1983 to 1994 called "The Joy of Painting". He taught viewers techniques to paint landscapes using easy and satisfying methods. Ross always had his painting completed by the end of the half-hour show, and he became extremely popular during the run of the show. "The Joy of Painting" won three Emmy Awards during its run. The film features interviews with Bob's son Steve, who was also featured on his father's show, and appearances by Bob's first wife Vicky, his artist friend John Thamn, good friend Dana Jester, the director of his show Sally Schenck, and fellow television artists Gary and Kathwren Jenkins. All the aforementioned give a behind the scenes glimpse of Bob's offscreen life, and how the show was produced. All his

friends state the Bob you saw on camera was exactly how he was in real life, except he was far more energetic than his relaxed onscreen persona. After all, how excited can one get while painting "happy little clouds"? Bob just made it seem all so easy while lulling the viewer into a state of relaxation. If you have never seen any of his shows, head to YouTube to catch a few and you will see what I mean. For those of us who watched the show during its original run (my Dad was a huge fan), all seemed happy go lucky in the world of Bob, but as this documentary reveals, there were some unscrupulous happenings behind the scenes as Bob's business partners, Walter and Annette Kowalski, eventually desired to control every aspect of Bob and his growing company, thus the betrayal and greed of the title. Toward the end of Bob's life, the Kowalski's became so obsessed with milking all the money from Bob and his newly formed company, their actions eventually prevented Bob's son Steve from having access to millions of dollars his famous father wanted him to have. The betrayal aside, the film treats viewers to Bob's early life, which involved the military, and how he first began painting. The film also reveals where and how each show was filmed, and how Bob's onscreen antics, such as adding a tree to a painting with a minute left in the show, drove his director crazy. However, director Schenck, reveals how much fun the artist was to work with, and she tears up several times during her interview segments. Not only will you feel bad about Bob's eventual exploitation, which continues to this day, but also for his son Steve,
who lost his father far too early. Steve struggled to regain control of his life after his father's passing, but eventually decided to continue teaching the art of painting, which is what he knew his father would have wanted. However, the next time you see a Bob Ross coffee mug or t-shirt, remember his son gets none of the royalties due to the greed of the Kowalski's. If you loved his television show, or are new to the world of Bob Ross, I
suggest taking in a viewing of the documentary "Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed" for a glimpse into the life of a kind soul who was betrayed. However, even after his tragic death, Bob still makes millions happy who watch reruns of his show. Now playing on Netflix. (Rated TV-14)
