4 Tips For Planning the Grand Wedding of Your Dreams

If you’re currently planning for your wedding but don’t know where to begin, then this article is just for you. Inside of this article, you will learn a few things that should be on your “to do” list that will make your wedding planning process a breeze.

Planning a wedding is not easy. There are a lot of things that needs to be considered before your big day arrives, so planning is crucial. Below you find 4 things to keep in mind when planning your wedding. They will prove to be helpful as you plan your special day.

1) The actual wedding day

Do you know what day you want to have your wedding on? This is an important question, because everything else regarding your wedding revolves around this special day. To consider what day you should pick for your wedding, keep in mind factors such as booking the venue and the availability of family and friends. You don’t want to plan a wedding on a day where everyone is busy. You should consider making it on a weekend, so most people are off from their jobs on weekends.

2) Your wedding budget

Your wedding budget is important because you don’t want to break the bank trying to plan for your wedding. You should know how much you’re will to spend on each detail regarding your wedding. It’s best to make an outline of things that need to be taken care of and how much each thing will cost. This is the best way to keep track of your costs and to keep costs down.

3) Where your wedding will take place Your wedding venue can take up a significant piece of your wedding budget so you will want to pick the best spot to hold your wedding. If you’re working on a tight budget, you may want to consider having an outdoor wedding at a garden or even at your home. There’s nothing wrong with an outdoor wedding and people do it all the time. No matter where you have your wedding, you will have to factor in the costs and prioritize your budge accordingly.

Sunday and certain weekdays have proven to be cheaper to host a wedding as opposed to Saturday. So you will want to keep your mind open to the possibilities so that you can have the best

wedding as possible.

4) How big do you want your wedding to be?

The size of your wedding is very important. This is also a cost issue and having a lot of guests can certainly impact your bottom line when it comes to your wedding. When considering the cost, be sure to factor in other things such as the venue, the number of guests, the food, and even the entertainment.

These 4 things may seem minor but are

very relevant to the planning of your wedding. Once you put these tips to work, you will see that planning your wedding is a piece of cake and that you can have the wedding of your dreams without breaking the bank to do it. Good luck with planning your wedding.

Choosing Your Wedding Gown

This is probably the most enjoyable part a bride to be would want to do of all the wedding preparations. Choosing what wedding gown to wear! If you’re planning to get married, there are lots of pointers that you have to consider when choosing a wedding gown. You can go traditional with all the veils and laces or opt to wear a chick modern wedding dress that accentuates your best features.

It is extremely important to choose according to your wedding theme, style of dress that you will be comfortable wearing and the budget as well. It is being balanced of these three factors that you have to decide on to make sure you are doing the right thing. Being the apple of the eye of everyone on your very special day is one good reason to give more time deciding what dress to wear.

You can browse wedding magazines available that display various wedding dresses from absolutely traditional to super modern style wedding dresses. You can also spend a day or two walking on wedding boutiques to widen your choices before actually pinpointing which in

particular that you want to wear on your wedding day.

Modern wedding dresses are especially good for themed wedding occasions like garden or beach weddings. Modern wedding has more casual type of setting compared to a traditional wedding and somewhat more exciting. Dresses to wear on this type of setting must also be harmonious with the general theme you would want to have.

Choosing to have a modern wedding theme gives you the option to you wear a chic and modern wedding dress as well. You can go from light and soft pastels to more colorful, bright dresses as long as you feel it shows harmony and compatibility with the entire theme. If you are planning to have a beach wedding, a short wedding dress is better to ensure that you don’t worry about long tails or gown hems touching the waters and getting wet.

You may also want to wear additional accessories like pearls and beaded accessories to accentuate your look and the wedding theme. Modern wedding themes allow you carry such unique, beautiful bunch of accent flowers that

are exceptionally fabulous as your wedding theme and you. You can also wear long strings of tropical flowers around your neck for an overall tropical look! You can even walk down the sand aisle barefooted, so cool and unconventional!

Overall, whether you choose to wear a traditional wedding dress or a casual modern one, making sure that you will look fabulous on that very special day counts the most. Choosing what wedding dress to wear is very important and should be given enough time for decision making.

Night Moves Mobile DJ's, Your Day Your Way

While sitting down with the guys from Night Moves Mobile DJ's, words like professionalism, experience, efficiency were used to describe their product. Without hesitation, I knew exactly the professionalism they spoke of.

It was the first Father daughter dance I saw after having my daughter. The emotions poured out of me with a lump the size of a tennis ball built in my throat. The perfect song played with the lyrics "I loved her first." As soon as the last note hits, the father of the bride with tears in his eyes, kisses his daughter's forehead and makes his way to regain his father like composure. Without Hesitation the DJ puts together the perfect

combination of words praising the father's success and hard work of raising an amazing young lady. Following up with an amazing transitional song he walks up to the father while shaking his hand tells him something that immediately had dad's head held high and his chest full of confidence. After introducing myself to the DJ/master of Ceremonies, I was blown away by what just happened. "It's not just about playing music; it's about providing perfect memories. It took me years and giving my daughter's hand in marriage to learn that."

Tony Rodefer, Robby Branson and their staff at Night Moves Mobile DJ's are doing just that by providing

memories and ensuring your perfect day is just that PERFECT!! Established in 1982, Night Moves have been providing services to thousands of couples throughout the past 39 years. It all started when Tony was 16 years old spinning a Sears turntable at his local school dance. Needless to say, Night Moves has shown exponential growth in the past few decades. They have 4 DJ's with 10 or more years of experience, top of the line Bose speakers, up lighting to full club lighting, photo booth, bartending and so much more. Never branding their own business they ensure that your venue shines as bright as the couple all while

only taking up 6 1/2 feet of set up space. Nightmoves has hosted weddings and events nationwide, from Florida to Maryland. Providing services to celebrities such as Kix Brooks and Rick Hendrick has been a few of the highlights. They specialize in making your dreams into memories, your day your way! Weddings of a lifetime start with Night Moves!

motorcycles. I own 2. One is considered a “classic” as it is now 30 years old. The other is a newer bike... 2018. Both are Harley-Davidson. Both are my mechanical babies. My children, so to speak. My tech is Doug Krockow. Doug started his journey into the realm of motorcycle maintenance in 1993. His basic studies began at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute Phoenix. He procured his certificate in Basic Motorcycle Maintenance Program Harley-Davidson Technician Program HarleyDavidson Late Model Program Harley-Davidson Early Model Program. Doug was employed through various HD dealerships, attending new certification classes which include technician, expert technician, motor chassis, master electrical, and Master of service technologies. Doug knows Harley Davidson motorcycles. And continues to learn more of his craft by volunteering his weekends to assist Matt Walksler at the world-famous Wheels Through Time. Doug’s expertise is constantly expanding. He can be counted on to work on any model year throughout the history of the Harley Davidson line up. At present you can find Doug at Biker Wear, 116 Buffalo Street in Johnson City, TN. Doug’s expertise is a huge asset to our area. Doug does not carry the prima Donna complex. He loves his work and is not afraid of the mundane or the nasty jobs that most Prima Donna’s will not work on. I grew up in an era when the technician's work areas were in a generalized state of disarray. Their tools rarely saw a good wipe down after a greasy or oily job. Most tools were thrown haphazardly into the toolbox and the tech simply knew the general location of all his tools. This ain’t how Doug

rolls, he understands the value of a well-organized and clean shop. Ya gotta love a man who has old school knowledge served up with today’s values of organization and cleanliness. Another interesting fact about Doug: he has another workspace off the premises of Biker Wear. It is packed full of bikes he is building for himself. He has built two bikes for his wife Kim, one is a beautiful custom build that made me want it for myself, and the other is a go-fast HD, built to impress! He is in the process of building an old Iron Head Sportster chopper for resale, as he wants to gain a base of money to rebuild the Panhead engine he inherited from his father. His idea is to build a

custom Panhead chopper for himself, memorializing his father. Oh, did I say Doug is a 2nd generation biker? Yeah, he comes by his talent through his father’s tutelage. I’d like to sum up this article by telling y’all this: good motorcycle mechanics are not a dime a dozen. The good ones are the guys and gals with imagination and true love of their craft. Doug has the knowledge, the experience, and the true pride of workmanship to sell his efforts. I will follow this man to Alaska if he decides to pack up and ride there. He is my go-to for HD maintenance.

Is Your Two Cents Worth It?

You just spotted a controversial status update from a major brand and noticed it has gone viral. You imagine getting a ton of traction from other users of that platform if you respond, but is your input on the update worth the response?

The answer will almost always be no… unless the controversy directly impacts your brand or industry. Inserting yourself into a conversation that does not directly impact you could have negative results for your company.

Your stance on a controversial issue should not be known to the public unless your business is

directly impacted by it. Free speech applies, but that does not mean the consequences of that speech are free of repercussions. Your brand could be irreparably damaged by one comment. Silence is golden in controversial situations and can mean the difference between repeat business and a negative reputation. Think about the consequences on your brand before you make a decision to speak on an issue that does not directly impact you or your business.

to give my seal of approval on all accounts.

Stepping into the lobby, guests are immediately greeted by the historic mural I was so concerned with losing. Instead of covering up with drywall and studs, they just added on to the sturdy bricks that once marked the end of Tipton Street, showcasing the painting with twinkling starburst lighting that illuminates a gorgeous curved staircase leading to the main dining room. I was surprised to see the bulk of the dining experience is executed upstairs, with the kitchen being the showcase downstairs. I can only imagine they’ve installed an elevator or dumbwaiter somewhere in the building or their service staff must have legs like a team of Clydesdales from running up and down those stairs.

of ranch because no matter how hard I try to escape, I am pure white trash at heart, but just know they are not typically served that way.) The oyster selection changes daily, but these were large and briney, just the way I like.

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical on the idea of AsianMexican fusion by way of Johnson City Tennessee.

While hearing this kooky concept was being spearheaded by the successful Stir Fry Group was a bit of a comfort, I had my initial reservations; especially when they began construction which involved obstructing the historic Coca-Cola mural that had been lovingly restored at the end of Tipton Street. Since their opening happened in the time since I relocated to Nashville, I only recently had the opportunity to make my first visit to the restaurant, and from food to structure, I am more than happy

While the entire space is an eclectic expression of art, nowhere is that more obvious than the bar. Running the length of the left wall, the lucite bartop is up-lit with hundreds of sliced geodes. Arranged in every different color and shape, you can’t miss an Instagrammable moment with your cocktail at this showpiece. While I was busy admiring the architecture, I can’t forget to mention the food. For starters we enjoyed the Thai Chicken Wings and Fresh Oysters. I’m not the greatest reference in terms of heat, as I only consider something hot if it results in tears the next day, but I don’t think these would be offensive to someone more sensitive to spicy food. Tossed in chili paste, garlic and cilantro, they were still juicy and bursting with flavor. (I did ask for a side

For the mains I was immediately drawn to the “Old School Stir Fry” section of the menu. Being a Johnson City girl who spent too many nights in the earlymid 2000s dancing to Lil’ John at the original Stir Fry Black & Red parties before going to The Planet, I was hungry for some nostalgia. These noodle and rice based dishes are huge and easily shareable, which means I need to go back 5 times to try them all. The Pad Thai was delicious, as was the Curry Basil Noodles. You’re given the options of proteins and add on’s, and we personally added chicken to ours, as well as a piping hot Miso Soup.

For the “Juan” selections on the menu, there appear to be some tasty and unique tacos, which I will have to try on another trip. Following my Asian feast, there was no way I had room for anything else!

The bar menu had some cool and refreshing cocktails that are sure to compliment the spicy, flavorful dishes. You can never go wrong with a classic Ranch Water or Margarita, but I was most intrigued by the rotating flavors of frozen libations. I’ve heard from a few friends they are dangerously delicious, but unfortunately the machine was down on the evening I was there. Again, I’m just happy to have another mission to return and report back, because a frozen

daquiri sounds like the perfect warm weather compliment to those tacos I didn’t get to try. The wine selection was fairly straightforward and basic. The standard wine drinker would have no complaints, but of course I would enjoy seeing a few more interesting whites on the list. A budget friendly Vouvray, Picpoul de Pinet, or Albarino would be an excellent pairing for the cuisine here. I do think the focus of their menu is on their beautiful cocktails and that’s really where they shine, which is something I will never complain about.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Juan Siao and I’m actually excited to return. I’m sure their warm weather menu changes will aim to please, and it seems like the perfect place to beat the summer heat with spicy plates and icy glasses.

All That Breathes

This week I am covering one of the documentaires that is up for Best Documentary Feature Film for the Academy Awards. The film follows brothers Mohammad Saud and Nadeem Shehzad of India as they treat injured birds in India. The brothers were raised in New Delhi, and have an affection for Black Kites, a medium sized bird of prey they have seen and admired since their childhood. Unfortunately due to the heavily polluted skies of New Delhi, the birds often fall from the sky, and the brothers rescue as many as they can to treat their injuries. The brothers bird clinic is in Wazirabad, Delhi, and they have treated over 20,000 birds of prey over the last 20 years, helping the ecosystem in a country dealing with the aforementioned heavy pollution. The brothers have help from others in their efforts, and sometimes

Pop Life

clash over rescue attempts and other matters. In one memorable scene, one of the birds grabs one of the siblings' glasses and flies away with them. In addition to the horrible air of the country there is also escalating violence in the country, of which we hear in the background but don't hear. One other interesting fact about one of the world's most populated cities is how monkeys, cows, frogs, rats and hogs jostle for space with humans. With all the pollution and upheaval around them the brothers bring a sense of peace to the area with their treatment of the birds. In other words, the city seems to be falling apart all around them, but they continue their life's calling. I was mesmerized by this film and the stark contrast between the peacefulness of the birds flying above and the heavily populated city below. One shot of hundreds of birds in the sky is a scene I will never forget. No special effects, just nature putting on a spectacular show. While most movie fans may shy away from documentaires, this is one I recommend you take the time to watch. The film has already won several awards already and they are deserved. The film is a co-production of India, the United Kingdom and the United States. The language spoken in the film

is Hindi, and has subtitles, which I know many do not enjoy, but this film is worth the effort. I really enjoyed this tale of two brothers caring for injured birds, and I feel if you take the time to view this film you will as well. Speaking of the Oscars, the other nominees for Documentary Feature Film are as follows: "All the

Beauty and the Bloodshed", "Fire of Love", "A House Made of Splinters" and "Navalny".

After viewing this film I really want to make an effort to see the other nominees. Now streaming on HBO Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube TV. (Not Rated)

I knew that warmer weather was well on its way long before any meteorologist said so. How? Oh, it was a small observation. One that, at first, I didn’t pay all that much attention to. “Huh. Didn’t I just replace this box of tissues?” I thought as I went through the last one in the box on the nightstand. I replaced it the following morning, then noticed a day or two later I had just gone through the box that was in my office.

Again, I thought “Didn’t I just replace this one?” That’s when I realized that my nose was showing its reliability as a weather forecaster, even more so than that groundhog up in Pennsylvania. Every year, sometimes twice a year, but typically as Winter starts the earliest stages of giving way to Spring, my nose will run every morning as if someone turned on a faucet and forgot about it. This morning rush, which at times feels akin to the kind of flow a prospector would dance about, typically lasts from the time I get out of bed till I take a shower. The magic of the steam must be what “resets” my nose for the day. Of course, that doesn’t mean I won’t need to use a tissue or two for the rest of the day,

The Nose Knows

just that the constant need for one is greatly diminished.

Even though I’ll be going through about two to three boxes a week, I welcome the yearly nasal dam burst. I’m sure the people who make Puffs plus Vicks also welcome it. As they see a little spike in their sales from me. Picking up one of those bundled four packs at the grocery every single week. What I welcome about this is that it’s a surefire sign that Spring is well on its way. Sure, it’s not going to happen

overnight, but it means the final weeks of cold are with us. For those of us who have always called East Tennessee home, we know this means playing a deceptive dance with warm days bundled right up against cold days. We don’t ween ourselves out of winter into Spring, we indecisively jerk back and forth. But my nose reassures me. Yes, that “spring of deception,” as a popular online post you see around this time each year says, is a real thing. I don’t worry about it for when it

comes to the seasons changing, my nose truly knows all. When does my nose settle down, you’re wondering? It typically stops before the season change fully arrives. Maybe a week or so before the calendar says it’s Spring proper. But till we get to the days when the warmth is here to stay, I’ll keep going about my day investing in boxes upon boxes and tissues and struggling to determine if I’ll need a jacket for the day or not. See you next week.
