Lindsey Bruno 11213 Rose Hill Court Fredericksburg, VA 22407 215-932-5383 Lindsey.bruno24@yahoo.com To the Pennsbury School District Administration: I am interested in applying and interviewing for the Choral Position at the high school level in the Pennsbury School District. As a 2001 graduate of Pennsbury High School, I am proud of the continued excellence achieved by the Choral Department, as well as the entire Pennsbury School District. I believe my teaching experience, qualifications and passion for choral education would add to Pennsbury’s outstanding reputation. Since 2005, I have been the Choral Director and Music Theory teacher at North Stafford High School in Stafford, Virginia. In this position, I direct seven choirs ranging from the beginning level to the advanced audition level; I also teach Music Theory Level One and AP Music Theory. My students have earned superior ratings at District Assessments in their Performance and Sight Singing categories each year and continue to have outstanding results at District Choir and All State auditions. In rehearsals I focus on correct vocal technique and understanding, as well as enhancing music literacy through the use of solfege. Each year I am the vocal coach for the Spring Musical production as well as the pianist in the pit orchestra. I am also in charge of the Parent Choral Booster Association, which is highly active in planning field trips and fundraisers. I have two undergraduate degrees from Lebanon Valley College; a B.S. in Music Education and a B.A. in Vocal Performance. After moving to Virginia, I completed a Master’s Degree in Choral Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am a member of NAfME and ACDA; in each of these organizations’ local chapters I am highly involved in running events such as District Auditions and I am the Vocal Jazz Standards and Repertoire Chairs for the Virginia Chapter of ACDA. In 2010 I was honored to be named “Teacher of the Year” at North Stafford HS. I enjoy collaborating with other professionals and I am looking for a work environment, such as Pennsbury’s Choral Department, where I would have greater opportunities to work with other choral colleagues on a daily basis. I feel that Pennsbury School District will provide me with a work environment where I can feel challenged and the opportunity to constantly refine my skills as a Choral Music educator. Thank you for your time in considering me for this position.
Sincerely, Lindsey Ann N. Bruno
