WHAT IS A CRUSADER? A Crusader is on mission. Centered on Jesus Christ, in the Roman Catholic tradition, our mission is to form students who are Intellectually Astute, Passionately Faithful & Socially Responsible. Lancaster Catholic High School has invested in the minds and hearts of young people for over ninety years. The impact of this investment has shaped every industry in Lancaster County and beyond – from business to medicine to the arts to infrastructure. A Lancaster Catholic education is college-preparatory, laying the groundwork for post-secondary studies, while challenging students to grow in areas beyond academics as well. Standing on the shoulders of previous generations, Lancaster Catholic continues to work with students to discover their unique, God-given gifts, provide opportunities for those gifts to be refined, and empower students to then use their gifts in service to the larger community. Something truly special happens at Lancaster Catholic High School! Every Crusader has a unique story to share – one that includes challenge and opportunity, faculty and staff members who went above and beyond, setbacks and comebacks, and above all, a pursuit of truth, goodness and excellence. Ask our students, parents, and alumni to share their stories and imagine what is possible for your child’s future.

A CRUSADER ISc rea tiv e The Fine & Performing Arts fuels student passion for the arts with hands-on learning, practice and performance!

The Lancaster Catholic Fine & Performing Arts program, recognized by the Middle States Association as a Program of Distinction, truly has something for everyone. Over 40 courses and performance opportunities allow students to learn or refine their skills in acting, art, music, media arts or playwriting. With such a broad offering, students are able to shape a program as focused or as diverse as their interests. Instruction is provided by some of Lancaster’s best artists and performers, and students have endless opportunities to showcase their talents. In addition to their diploma, the Fine & Performing Arts Certificate offers talented students a dedicated path to an additional credential. Earning the certificate requires dedication, commitment and a desire to delve deeper into the arts. Pursuit of the certificate requires participation in field trips, stage productions, ensembles, recitals and completion of a portfolio. In 2020, the Fine & Performing Arts Department earned another prestigious honor, as one of the Best Communities for Music Education. This honor is awarded to individual private schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. LCHS was one of 80 schools in the entire country and one of just seven in the state to receive this accolade. Whatever direction you want to go, we have the courses, faculty and opportunities you will need to reach your goals!

“The spring musical is where I first gained confidence, and the people that I met as a freshman are my closest friends today.” ~ Annalise Kauffman ‘22

A CRUSADER ISuni ted Athletics at LCHS is an extension of what happens in the classroom. Our Crusaders embody family, discipline, hard work & faith.

With over 60% of our student body involved in our Athletic Program, we encourage students to try new sports, refine current skills, embody our mission & pursue excellence in all they do. Crusaders can choose from 24 sports to participate. Athletics are only a small part of the Lancaster Catholic experience & never the sole reason for a student to join our family. Student-athletes who meet with the greatest success do so because they embrace the mission of the school. Our Crusaders compete in the Lancaster-Lebanon League and have seen tremendous success. In the last five years, Lancaster Catholic has won 28 Section, 13 League, 20 District and four PIAA State Championships.

A CRUSADER ISfamily Being a part of the Catholic High community is being a part of something larger than you.

In 1928 Lancaster Catholic High School made a commitment to Lancaster County believing that a Catholic education would significantly affect the lives of the young men and women that live here. That same commitment exists today. The Crusader family is a 94-year tradition of young people learning to become faith-filled leaders inside the historic halls at 650 Juliette Avenue. There are over ten thousand people living throughout the world who have been educated at Lancaster Catholic High School. They represented a diverse group when they were students, and today, they are successful professionals, skilled craftsmen, businessmen and women, Sisters, Brothers, priests and parents. We are proud of the contributions they have made to the communities in which they live and of the lives that they lead. Thanks to overwhelming community support and Crusaders pride the future of LCHS looks bright. A significant update and transformation of our historic hallways has already begun and just this fall the STEM Innovation Center was opened in Reilly Hall. The next phase of renovations and additions for our Crusaders, a new auditorium, student-commons and collegiate-style cafeteria, begins this academic year. 1928: Construction began on LCHS “Old Main” building
