AP Test Update Word from Collegeboard is that AP tests will be able to be completed at home and should you wish to cancel your AP test, you may do so without penalty. More information will be forthcoming later this week from your LCHS AP Teachers.
Attendance Update Due to the COVID 19 virus, ALL absences (if your child/student will miss the ENTIRE instructional day) should be reported to Mrs Fritz at kfritz@lchsyes.org. School Counseling Corner As anxiety rises amongst our families, the School Counselors have relied on some excellent resources that we will continue to share with our families. Lynn Lyons, a psychotherapist and author, has a huge following and offers some great tips to parents about how to lower your child’s (and your own) anxiety especially now. You can see her most recent recordings on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ lynnlyonsanxiety/
Seniors - if you have been notified from your colleges, now is the time to put
that spreadsheet together to include the pros and cons of each school, financial aid packages, etc. We continue to update the Scholarship Tab on Naviance with any extended deadlines for scholarship applications. If you need transcripts sent to colleges, Mrs. Grosh can still continue to send digital copies; please contact her.
Juniors - your counselors met with most of you before the recent pandemic. If
you would like to schedule meetings with your counselors, please send an email and we will meet with you through Google.
Realizing that many of you are making plans to begin your college search, you can still visit colleges online. SATs and ACTs may be delayed until June or even August, however, Khan Academy is still up and running for prep sessions. There is a direct link in Naviance!
Sophomores - while we just started introducing you to the tools in Naviance,
the Career Key is the survey you just completed. If you were absent that day or you haven’t finished this task, please do so as it will give you some interesting careers to think about based upon researched algorithms. Sophomores are also encouraged to contact their counselors through email to set up their yearly meetings.
Freshmen - this is a very strange time for everyone but definitely unprecedented
for you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your School Counselor with questions or any concerns you might have as we navigate the weeks ahead together.

Therefore, all students, faculty, and staff will be off that week. On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we are so proud of how you’ve adapted and are handling these difficult times. Since we miss you all tremendously, we would love to see and hear from you. I think we can all agree that one of the things that makes Lancaster Catholic so special is the community that exists among all of us - students, teachers, coaches, staff, administrators. In addition to your classwork, we want to be sure we add a little fun into your routine. So be on the lookout for some fun surprises in these upcoming weeks! So what do we need from you? PICTURES! We want to see what your desk/workspace looks like. Send us pictures or videos of you working hard, conferencing with your teachers, or working with classmates on projects. How are you remaining Intellectually Astute? Send us short stories about how you do your best work. We would love your feedback! Do you have your puppy in your lap when you’re doing school work? Do you get up at a normal time, shower and get ready for the day or do you lounge around in your PJs (no judgment)? Is this easier or more difficult than a normal school day? How are you remaining Passionately Faithful? Are you following along on Facebook for the 9am Daily Rosary with Campus Ministry? Are you following Campus Ministry on Instagram? How are you keeping your prayer life going? What is it like attending Virtual Mass? What new insights have you had about the role of faith in the daily life of the Lancaster Catholic community? How are you remaining Socially Responsible? What are you doing in this difficult time to help those around you? How has social distancing increased your awareness of “love of neighbor”? Are there social needs you think the Lancaster Catholic community can help out with from home? Overall, what are you missing the most about Lancaster Catholic and what creative ideas do you have to help everyone remain connected during this time of social distancing? We’d love to hear them! Virtual lunch with Mrs. Wenrich? Hanging out in Camp Min? Need to hear Kat’s voice for prayer and pledge? Crusader Crazy theme days? Beard contest? All ideas will be considered!
