Aevidum To Be Cont;nued

The theme for this year’s Aevidum Day is To Be Cont;nued. . . From everyone in Aevidum, our message is simply: Do not feel alone. Henry David Thoreau referred to spring as a “memorable crisis,” in part because it is at once gradual and sudden. As early as January, we read about COVID19 ravaging people in faraway countries, yet it was not yet an immediate threat to us. Then, suddenly it was. During the days we now spend in isolation, it may feel as if parts of our lives were instantly torn away and our reality drastically shifted. Any emotions surrounding this crisis are natural and understandable. Thoreau also believed that if people had “like minds,” even if they were not in close proximity, there was no need for anyone to feel lonely. At Catholic High, we remain linked in our constant prayers, our renewed hopes, and our combined goals. “Like minds” are hovering over keyboards waiting for opportunities to share your questions and your fears. In a community like ours, take it for granted that you are valued and will cont;nue to be loved. Let the power of being part of the Catholic High family comfort and protect you.

Attendance Update Due to the COVID 19 virus, ALL absences (if your child/student will miss the ENTIRE instructional day) should be reported to Mrs Fritz at kfritz@lchsyes.org. This is NOT the protocol for a normal school day, however, with virtual learning/ online classes it will provide us with a better means of keeping track of attendance.

Juniors Are you using all the tools on Naviance yet? There are so many things to explore! One of the most important tasks to complete in the next few weeks is your resume. Once your resume is finished, you will want to ask your teachers (please visit them during office hours online) for letters of recommendation for college.

SAT Update College Board has cancelled all SATs that would have been administered in May and June. Although they are planning to offer SATs beginning in August, please do not try to register for an exam at this time. Lancaster Catholic High School is committed to serving our student population in any way we can and we have volunteered to open a testing center at the High School in August and/or September. Many colleges and universities have now decided to change their admissions processes to “test optional” please check the websites of the colleges that interest you to ascertain their admissions policies.

AP Test Update As many of you know, the AP exams will now be sent electronically to students. All exams will be held from May 11, 2020 through May 22, 2020. If students no longer wish to take their AP exams, refunds may be requested at www.Totalregistration.net Students are encouraged to do this as soon as possible so tests will not be sent to them. 2020 Revised AP Exam Schedule Week 1 Date Eastern Time Zone Monday, May 11 12:00 Noon Physics C Mechanics
