Appropriateness During Meetings Direction Regarding Appropriateness During On-Line Academic Meetings: Students and Parents, as we continue in this new way of teaching and learning, we must address on-line meetings and what is appropriate. For any google-meetings or the like, where students and teachers are on camera, the following must be observed: Students must be appropriately attired and surroundings are to be decent on camera. Sit up straight, no lounging or lying down, as it is a class meeting. In addition, per school policy, all meetings will be recorded. We appreciate everyone's continued support as we navigate this uncertain time in education and our world. Thank you. LCHS Administration

Golden Apple Winner- Miss Martin

Lancaster Catholic High School, as a community, is known for tradition and legacy. Within that tradition and legacy, Sue Martin is a hallmark. Sue graduated from Lancaster Catholic in 1972 and returned in 1976 as the school’s librarian; however, her role in the library is only a fraction of her service to the community. She has embodied the qualities of a Golden Apple recipient: professional excellence, leadership, commitment to Catholic values, and devotion to teaching in Catholic schools. As Librarian, Sue has demonstrated professional excellence through her commitment to providing the most up to date resources ready for faculty and students at all times. Busy classroom teachers need only bring an idea for a project to Sue and she gets to work on reviewing and gathering resources that would be helpful. Beyond the Library, Sue’s leadership has been demonstrated in her official roles as a track coach, Student Council moderator, Kairos leader, Blood Drive coordinator, interim Vice-Principal and Middle States Coordinator. Perhaps what is more impressive are the unofficial roles she has filled in the life of Lancaster Catholic, which demonstrate her commitment to Catholic values and Catholic education. Sue is the keeper of stories and traditions and as the Crusader Crazy par excellence, she can always be found at sporting events, concerts, performances, and student presentations. Don’t let that tough exterior fool you -- Sue’s expectations are high for all members of the community because her deep love and pride for Lancaster Catholic, its mission, and its community are part of her DNA. The Lancaster Catholic community is infinitely proud of and grateful for Miss Susan Martin’s 44 years of service, which has rightfully earned her this Golden Apple recognition!

School Counseling Corner Why do I have to keep working on school work? We completely understand why students (especially seniors) ask this question and our answer to our LCHS students is, you need to keep working so you are ready for what’s ahead. If that’s college, military, sophomore year, a summer job, etc. your behavior during this time will set you up for the next thing you do. Make good choices! How do I dig myself out of an academic hole? Communicate!! Look at your courses as if they were credit cards. All the financial institutions are telling people to call them and explain their situations and with us, you can easily contact your teachers and you won’t have an annoying voice saying, “Your call is important to us, you are 36th in line, please hold”. With less than three weeks to go, take each classes assignments and make a list of what you think you can accomplish in a day (keep it reasonable). Talk to your teachers to help you prioritize. Working in time-frames of 40 mins-60 minutes and then taking a short break will help. Don’t look at the mountain of work, look at one assignment at a time. Once you start completing assignments, your stress level will go down. Ask for help! Your school counselors can help, your teachers can help and we have a couple of Math teachers who can help in that area--reach out, help is available! Math problems? Need some help? Tancy Wenrich (tancy.wenrich@gmail.com), a recent LCHS graduate has offered her assistance too! As well as Mr. Longenecker (ned.longenecker@gmail.com) and Mr. Dan Fritsch 717-394-5455 via telephone, 717-305-0095 for FaceTime and Danfsr@yahoo.com are ready and willing to help.
