Midterm Exam Information As you are aware, midterm exams will be held Tuesday, 1/15/19 through Thursday, 1/17/19. The midterm schedule can be found on LCHS website and in classrooms. Note that this schedule varies from the regular school day and is individual for each student. Students must be in uniform for all midterm exams. Study hall will be held in the cafeteria throughout the exam period. Please be aware that should any exam day be canceled due to inclement weather, exams for that day will move to the next day (e.g. , Tuesday to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday). Note, however, that if Thursday’s exams need to be postponed (or are part of the chain reaction), they will be moved to Tuesday, January 22. The existing Mass Schedule and March for Life Retreat on Friday, 1/18/19, will not be canceled, unless due to inclement weather on Friday. Just a few instructions: 1. Students taking a first period exam must report to their assigned testing room by 8 a.m. , just as any other normal school day. Students who arrive after 8:00 a.m. are considered late. Late students will not be permitted into the exam room without an admission slip from the Attendance Office between 8:00 and 8:15. 2. Students not taking the first exam at 8:00 a.m. must enter the building through the Main Office doors. Students should not be opening the lobby doors to let people into the building. For the second and third exams, please report to your assigned testing room 10 minutes prior to the test time, so that the exams may begin promptly. 3. Once an exam begins, late students will not be permitted into the exam room. If late, you will need to reschedule your midterm in the School Counseling Office. Make-up tests for late students can only be taken during conflict periods that same day.
Please remember that the use of cell phones and bathroom breaks are not permitted during the exam period. Smart and Fitbit watches are also prohibited in the classroom during exams. Talking continues to be prohibited, until all exams are collected. Once an exam is completed, students may silently study/ read. Students may not use electronics until the bell rings to signal the end of the exam period. Students will not be dismissed early from an exam period. In addition, there will be no extended time provided on mid-term exams unless a student was previously pre-approved by the Instructional Support team. Those students who are pre-approved for extended time will be dismissed to the Library for exam completion, as needed. Students with a first and third period exam time, but no second period exam, must report to the cafeteria for study hall during the 2nd exam period. Wandering in the halls is not permitted. Leaving and re-entering the building is not permitted. Students must leave the building immediately after their last exam each day. If you need to wait for a bus, please wait in the cafeteria. School district bus transportation will be provided per the regular 3:00 p.m. schedule. The Elizabethtown, Ephrata Walmart, & Holy Trinity buses will follow separate schedules, which will be provided by the drivers and below: Tuesday, January 15 - 12:45 PM dismissal pick up at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 16- 12:15 PM dismissal pick up at 12:30 PM Thursday, January 17 - 12:15 PM dismissal pick up at 12:30 PM Note that testing may be in process throughout the building. It is important that a quiet environment be maintained, especially in lobby areas. Once out of the building, students may not re-enter without a valid purpose. Parents should note that supervision will not be provided between the end of the third final and end of the normal school day. Thanks for abiding by the above rules for mid-term exams, which provide an organized and fair testing environment for all students. Study hard and good luck! Click here to view the Midterm Schedule.

Campus Ministry Update- March for Life We are very excited about the upcoming March For Life on January 18th. We are grateful to St. John Neumann parish in Lancaster for their willingness to coordinate with us so we can accommodate the over 70 students who have signed up to attend this year’s March. Please note that we have a small change in our departure time. We will now meet at 7AM and attend Mass at St. John Neumann at 7:30 with the group from their parish. We depart by 8:30. School Counseling Corner: Timely Tips from your School Counselors Thank you to the many families who attended our PSAT/College Prep Meeting on Monday Night. If you were unable to attend, Mr. Dietz will be sending out his power point shortly. The remainder of the PSAT reports have been set to your students through their homerooms this week. Midterm Exams next week! Mr. Dietz and Mrs. Culbert were able to connect with freshmen this week during Crusader Periods to assist them in organizing their midterm exam schedules. AP registration and payments will begin as of January 15, 2019 with a new on-line format. If you have any questions regarding AP exams, please contact Mr. Dietz. Parent Naviance Accounts - Just before Christmas Break, all parents were sent a presentation regarding Naviance and setting up parent accounts. If you did not receive this information, or you have questions regarding Naviance, please contact Mr. Dietz in the School Counseling Office (gdietz@lchsyes. org).
