Mini-THON was kicked off on Monday with a pep rally and THON families told their stories. Students had the opportunity to wear red in support of Warwick High School.


Rotary Club nominees from Lancaster Catholic Noel Murrieta, Lakota Eckman, Taylor Rogers, Mateo Tirone and Jillian Wnek have been selected to represent Lancaster Catholic through the Rotary Club’s 4-Way Test Speech Contest. They are advancing from the school competition and will move on to the mid-levels that will take place on November 17th at the Eden Resort. The start of the contest is at 10:00am.

Crusader Athletics- Fall Update Cross Country - A pair of Crusaders ran in the District Tournament. Senior Mary Zukus finished 30th and junior Jotham Ngarama finished 28th. Field Hockey - Finished the year 6-12. Football - Finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record, for just the fourth time in school history, winning the Section 3 Title for the 10th time since 1998. They will host the District Semifinal game on Friday, Nov. 9. Golf - Freshman Jack Novice qualified for the District Tournament and finished 12th. Girls Soccer - Finished the season with a 17-1-2, losing a heart-breaker in PKs in the District Tournament, one of the most successful seasons in recent memory. Boys Soccer - Reached the District Semifinals, falling in PKs on Tuesday night, finishing with a 14-5-3 record. Girls Tennis - Reached the PIAA State Tournament and finished with a 16-3 record. Seniors Riley Smith & Isabel Midcap are still alive in the PIAA Doubles Tournament, after winning the Doubles District Title last weekend. Girls Volleyball - Reached Districts for the first time in program history & finished with an 11-8 record, the most wins in school history. Girls Basketball Update Kiki Jefferson - Committed to NCAA Division I’s James Madison University to continue her academic and athletic career.

Annual Fall Blood Drive Donors Wanted The annual fall blood drive will be held Tuesday, November 6 from 8:00 to 2:00 in the Old Gym. The Blood Drive is sponsored our National Honor Society and Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank. Did you know that every 2 seconds someone needs a blood transfusion? It is a safe and easy process which takes approximately 45 minutes. Anyone age 16 or older, weighing at least 110 pounds and in good health on the day of the drive may donate. Pennsylvania law requires a parent consent form for students who are 16 years old. Permission forms are available in the Library and must be returned by Friday, November 2. Unfortunately, International students may not donate since they have not been in the U.S. for 1 complete year. All donors must present a photo ID at the time of donation. Sign-up sheets for donating will be available in the Library beginning Monday, October 22. Please encourage your son or daughter to donate. Varsity Club Christmas Greens Sale We, at Lancaster Catholic High School, would like to offer you the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit and help a neighbor at the same time. The Varsity Club is selling Christmas greens to raise money for families in need in our local community. With the funds collected from this activity, we can provide gifts, food, and clothing for several families who would not have the means to celebrate the holiday this year. All of the Christmas greens will be from Stauffers of Kissel Hill. Please fill out the form found on lchsyes.org and make checks payable to Lancaster Catholic High School. Order forms can be dropped off to Mrs. Byers in room 205 or Mrs. Cicchetti in room 122. Orders are due November 13th. We will not be able to accept any orders after November 13th. If you can not use the greens, donations to Varsity Club are always accepted. Greens will be available for pick up on Thursday, November 29th at 3 PM- 5 PM. School Counseling Corner: Timely Tips from your School Counselors About Grief - This past weekend brought with it the horrific accident at Warwick High School as well as the hate crime shooting in the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh. These events bring with them very complicated scenarios for your children. Sometimes students exhibit unusual behaviors such as: irritability, exhaustion, depression, apathy, feelings of being overwhelmed, etc. If you are seeing signs that your child may need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to their School Counselor. Seniors - It is now November. If you have not completed your Naviance profile and resume, it is time to do so. If you need assistance, please come to the School Counseling Office. Also, check out the latest list of college admissions counselors visiting LCHS. The next SAT is December 1st. Please register at www.collegeboard.org no later than November 2nd! Juniors and Seniors- the School Counseling Office has books available for the upcoming College Fair at Conestoga Valley High School on November 5, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. This fair offers workshops and will have over 120 colleges represented. Coffee with Counselors - all parents of freshmen are invited to a brief meeting with the School Counselors to discuss the first quarter report cards and check in with you about your students on Tuesday, November 6th from 8:15 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. in the Faculty Dining Room. So after voting, come join us!

Bus picks up at the same location at 7 p.m. for an approximate return to Lancaster Catholic High School at 10 p.m.

Parent Referral Program Our Referral Program is meant to thank families who have added new members to the Crusader family. For each new family that enrolls, the referring family will receive a $500 discount on tuition for the 20182019 school year, applied at the end of the 2nd marking period.
