God’s Work, Our Hands On Sunday, September 13 LCR will join with Lutherans all across the country in this ELCA sanctioned day of community service! We will have one worship service at 9 a.m. and then break-out into one of a dozen service projects for all ages and abilities. There are three ways to get involved: 1) Sign-up now to participate in a service project on Sept. 13 2) Donate items needed to complete the projects 3) Join us for a unified worship service on Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. Project sign-ups, donation lists and more are available at LCRmarietta.org/GWOH or by contacting the Church Office.
Special Studies Lutheran Questions & Lutheran Answers Lutheran Christians often have questions about Lutheran theology and beliefs that are basic to the Christian faith itself. Featuring a unique question-and-answer format, this study is an accessible and concise treatment that provides the most frequently asked questions on important topics and brief but complete answers. The Divine Drama Go on a compelling journey that explores the love and grace of God. You will experience the heart of the Old Testament’s divine drama in this 10 week biblical tour de force. Facebook 101 What’s this book everyone talks about and why is it full of faces!? Whether you’re ready to enter the world of social media for the first time or have a Facebook profile but want to learn more about how it works, this class is for you! We will cover the basic functions of Facebook, including how to set-up a profile, posting, sharing, liking and how to stay safe. Advent Advent Small Group Study Advent is the season in which we watch, wait and prepare to bear witness to the coming of the true light of God’s presence in Jesus Christ. Through worship, Scripture and prayer, we train our eyes to see God’s presence, so that in the hubbub of the “holidays,” we are prepared to celebrate a “holy day” - the day when God came down among us in human flesh. This study explores the lives of people who witnessed the miracle in the Incarnation. We are invited to reflect on their stories and, in our reflection, to become witnesses with them to the one light that will never be overcome! More information about this study will be available online and in the Weekly beginning November 1.
