WHO’S WHO IN JEFFERSON COUNTY featuring the annual

Awesomeness Survey

Supplement to the Wednesday, March 18, 2015 issue of the Port Townsend & Jefferson County Leader

FOR 80 YEARS Peninsula Credit Union has been there for our Members. If your financial institution is no longer there for you, we are - JOIN US!

In 1935, employees at Rayonier Pulp and Paper Company gathered their money and started this credit union. It wasn’t to be a charity, it was a way that people who knew and trusted each other could pool their money and do bigger things. Some saved and others borrowed and they grew together. From the humble beginnings of the $35 they pulled together that day to the $150 million represented today by five branches, 72 employees and over 18,000 members, the Peninsula Credit Union of today honors our past and looks brightly upon our future.

Who’s Who 2015

We live, work and play in a place where people are connected – not every town or rural county is this way. It’s a comfortable feeling in a place where you know people by name, or at least recognize those you see in a store, around school or at the gym. Our annual Who’s Who publication is intended to help make connections through business, recreation, entertainment and the all-important community service and support groups. Our second annual “Awesomeness Survey” results are published here: people who are hard workers, awesome kids, funny people, volunteers, nice people – a little bit of everything, and a lot of names. See who is on the list that you know, and who you would suggest for next year. New to the area and want to see what’s out there? Who’s Who is for you. Our “Groups” listing brings in regularly scheduled, year-round clubs and activities from throughout East Jefferson County. The “Recreation” list details public trails, play-fields, basketball courts, mountain bike trails. Find the avenue to entertain your children, your grandchildren and yourself. Sailing, youth gymnastics, golf, YMCA and public recreation programs. “Support Groups” show how we have an inclusive community. This is a comprehensive list of legal, educational and human services. We hope you keep our Who’s Who publication around as a reference guide for the whole year – it’s also available on ptleader.com. When it comes to living well in a place that makes you happy, it usually starts with the people you know, and the people who want to help. Now you know a little more about who is who. A Who’s Who list of ‘awesome’ people in Port Townsend & Jefferson County This Who’s Who publication is the perfect place to feature our annual “Awesomeness Survey” for Port Townsend and Jefferson County. The purpose of this unscientific survey is to spotlight awesome people who are the heart and soul of this place we call home. It is not a contest. Every person listed is a winner. We’ve done our best with the spelling of names, as provided from hundreds of contributors during our nomination period in January and February. There are many, many more people who certainly deserve to be listed, and could be next year. For 2015, here is a Who’s Who of people who are awesome!
