FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS by PENELOPE CARLEVATO

THE ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE SALON WAS OBTAINING MY INFORMATION TO COMPLETE MY CLIENT PROFILE. When I gave her my email address, PenelopesTeaTime@gmail.com, she asked if there was a story behind the name. I was able to give her my quick testimony about my tea ministry. She was fascinated and asked many questions which led to our exchanging phone numbers.

Later that afternoon as I was reading the Book of Esther, I thought of my morning encounter with the young lady at the massage salon. It wasn’t a coincidence she was the person at the desk when I went for my massage.

Just as all encounters we experience are not chance but planned by God. Immediately I thought of the famous Scripture we all associate with Esther.

“And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14, NASB).

Esther was chosen as the new queen and facing the dilemma of revealing her Jewish roots. Keeping quiet would allow her to continue enjoying life as the queen, but her calling was greater — to set aside that life style and her ambitions and face the music head-on to save her people.

We all have God-assigned kingdom opportunities. We are placed in positions, occupations, education, given resources and live in locations that will optimize the opportunities God puts in our path.

I feel called to put together events, write books and plan trips to optimize His purpose for me. I am not to waste time on social media, frivolous shopping and lunches, or eating bonbons all day. God has placed each of us just in the right place for opportunities to reach others for Christ.

Like Esther, we have a choice to make; we are in a battle for men’s and women’s souls. We have a calling for this particular time and this particular place.

Join me today as we seek His plans for us; plans for our days and ways to make heaven more crowded.
