Bow Wow Reading Program

Practice your reading skills by reading a book to a trained therapy dog in a quiet, relaxed setting. Reading aloud helps children become better readers by improving fluency and comprehension, among other important skills. Sessions will be 15 minutes long, and reservations will be required.

TALEWISE: SAVING THE EARTH TOGETHER SCIENCE SHOW

In this action-packed story, two unlikely heroes work together to save their town (and the planet) from a super-polluting mastermind! Together we’ll explore Newton’s Laws of Motion, air pressure, chemical reactions, and more!

Novel Needles

Join others who share an interest and passion for the creative fiber and textile arts. All skill levels are welcome to practice and share their crafts and projects. Fiber arts include, but are not limited to crochet, knitting, macrame, embroidery, weaving, spinning, cross stitch, tatting and sewing. This is an inclusive group where folks of all skills and experience levels can work on their fiber creations and build an excited and supportive community. Please bring a project to work on.

What do our possessions say about us? More specifically what do they say about our past, present and our future? Many families possess a “family archive”; documents, photographs, heirlooms, scrapbooks, recipes and a whole range of other items that “reveal insights” into past generations, and preserve family stories. Join Clara Snyder, Public Services Librarian and former archivist, to learn more about how to get started with selecting, organizing, and caring for your family archive and learn some valuable research tools along the way.

Home of the Leander Youth Baseball and Softball Alliance, this park spans 46.5 acres and features four baseball fields, one softball field, four batting cages, pavilion, hike and bike trails, skate park, disc golf course and a playscape.
