OUR MISSION We will enhance and enrich the lives of all Leander citizens by providing access to superior park and public spaces and creating quality recreation, sports and leisure opportunties.

PROGRAM & EVENT POLICIES

CANCELLATIONS Help us have successful programs by registering early. All programs must have a minimum number of participants in order to be conducted. If a program does not meet this minimum, the class may be cancelled. Department cancellations will receive a full refund.

WAITLISTS If registering for a class or league that is full, your name can be placed on a waiting list. This does not guarantee a spot, but individuals will be contacted if an opening becomes available.

PHOTO RELEASE

The Leander Parks and Recreation Department and Leander Public Library routinely take photos and videos of participants in recreation activities, programs and special events. These photos and/or videos may be used for promotional purposes. Be aware that by participating, you are granting the City of Leander the right to use and publish your image or your minor child's image.

DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

I continue to be excited about the future of Leander Parks and Recreation and the parks and services we provide to the residents of this wonderful and growing city.

To serve alongside a wonderful team who dedicates themselves daily to making parks and programs the very best in Texas is such an honor. The P&R team along with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Leander Public Art and Culture Commission, and the Active Adult Advisory Board have been incredibly active in recent months positioning the Department and the City for not only 2023, but the future as well.

We’re exploring new and expanded programming opportunities with “quality” being the key phrase and everything we have a hand in is to be healthy, fruitful and strong - the “wow” factor if you will. We also continue to evaluate our community recreational facilities and reaching out to partners

for creative collaboration. Whether this is a smaller project like adding murals to parks and enhancing current programs, to larger projects such as upgrading current facilities or creating new parks and facilities, we desire for all to have a positive impact on our community.

As we work together, we discover we have value. This value is not founded solely on what we contribute but it is far more core than that. It is founded on what we can do together to achieve the goals before us. Our staff is committed to the three “C’s” of a healthy team: Communication; Cooperation; and Consensus.

Let’s all make 2023 (and beyond) the best that Leander can be!
