To talk about our life experience. E.g I´ve worked for too many different firms 3. It is used with periods of time which are not finished at the time of speaking (today, This morning / week..) E.g. It is used with FOR / SINCE to say how long something has been happening E.g He hasn´t seen Paul for ten days / She´s lived here since 2006 *6.
