What are we still looking forward to? What surprises and amazes us in everyday life?

The openness with which we view the world when we are young is refreshing and enriching. Why this amazement should give way to habituation is a mystery to Jennifer Drabbe. For ten years she has observed the behavior of her growing daughters through these glasses. What she saw she managed to abstract and capture in a recognizable way. Miraculous, disarming statements have been recorded by her. With her gaze, Jennifer shows a pronounced fascination for everything that is unique, natural and playful within the security of the domestic atmosphere.

Jennifer, formerly a theater director and now a photographer, humorously examines our personal and often unconscious behavior: especially who we are when we drop our masks. She reveals these recognizable intimate moments in powerful, sometimes theatrical images in her first publication today is my new favorite day.

Jennifer Drabbe (1969) graduated as a director at the Toneelschool in Amsterdam in 1996 and has made performances at the Haarlemse Toneelschuur and Theater Bellevue, among others. Since 2008 she has focused on photography as a visual language. In 2018 she completed The FOTOfactory in Amsterdam. Her work has been published in, among others, Polish by Rizzoli publishers in 2020 and in 2021 she made her debut in PF photography magazine. She also researches and develops her work in moving images and installations.
