VISUAL ART
From the Renaissance to the 19th century
text Andrea Accorsi, Giuseppe Brillante, Elena Percivaldi introduction Chiara Nepi This beautifully illustrated book is an exemplary introduction to the world of botanical art. It sets the stage for scientists and artists who have contributed to the expansion of knowledge in the field of plants and flowers over the decades. They have described and pictured them, often with unbelievable precision and scientific accuracy. Plants and flowers have always been a source of inspiration for artists. This inspiration was combined with a scientific interest that led to a symbiosis between botany and art and resulted in staggering masterpieces. While observing, the artists introduced us to the richness of flora all over the world, from common species to the most unusual that can only be found in the remotest corners of the globe. Including work by Leonhart Fuchs (1501-1566), John Tradescant (1570-1638), Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717), Elizabeth Blackwell (1707-1758), PierreJoseph RedoutĂŠ (1759-1840), Giorgio Gallesio (1772-1839) and Walter Hood Fitch (1817-1892).
Chiara Nepi has been the director of the Natural History Museum at the University of Florence since 2010. She focuses primarily on the study, conservation and sharing of knowledge about historic collections. Journalist and researcher Andrea Accorsi has worked for newspapers and writes for historic and scientific magazines. Journalist Giuseppe Brillante writes ar ticles and scientific and natural history reports for various newspapers. He has been editor of the magazine BBC Science for seven years. Elena Percivaldi is a historian, specialising in the Middle Ages. She is the author of various essays and wrote the book Celestial Atlas: A Journey in the Sky Through Maps.

text en photography Dennis Moet
A journey through England stimulated ecologist and photographer Dennis Moet to undertake a visual research into the roots, power and beauty of the enclosed garden – the hortus conclusus – as a reflection of a lost paradise. His search into the soil and the significance of the enclosed garden explores the interpretation and symbolism of (cut) flowers in literature and the visual arts in the Netherlands and England from the Middle Ages. The result is a unique book with all kinds of cross-pollination between garden art, sustainability, ecology, art and philosophy. The reader/viewer is introduced to the historic context of garden culture in western Europe and is presented with impressions of acclaimed enclosed ornamental and botanical gardens in England and the Netherlands. These show how our relationship with nature and plants has changed over the centuries. Using several painted garden and flower portraits, it then discusses the language of plants and flowers in the arts. A selection of quotes expresses our connection with and sensory experience of gardens, plants and flowers.
Dennis Moet was educated as an ecologist, teacher and photographer and is the founder of Studio Gidz. He is committed to making our lifestyle and living environment more sustainable and creates illustrated stories about gardens and landscape, eco design and ar t. With par tners he has previously published: Autarkie; self-sufficient commuter landscapes (2005), Strathnaver; a visual exploration in the heart of Sutherland Scotland (2010) and Circular practices; green and ripe (2017).
This Florilegium is literally a book of flowers for lovers of gardens and floral art, as well as a call to take more care of our ‘Spaceship Earth’, our collective enclosed garden.

The book includes an overview of all 132 of Flentge’s drawings.
text Marcel Teunissen
In 2008, 130 architectural drawings by the stonemason Johannes Flentge (1874-1941) were discovered in the Utrecht University library. They were made between 1907 and 1940 and almost all drawn with a system of lines, geometric figures and symbolic elements. Flentge was involved in the restoration of the Utrecht Dom tower, from the beginning in 1902 until its completion in 1932, under the direction of Pierre Cuypers, first as a stonemason and later as master stonemason. After its completion he remained at home due to health problems. Flentge searched for a ‘Divine measurement system’ until his dying day; from gothic cathedrals to symbols for the city of God, the heavenly Jerusalem. The buildings would have used the same measurement system as God’s creation: the universe. Insight into these measurements could be gained through geometric laws. Application of this system would make the construction a literal reflection of the heavenly city of Jerusalem. According to his friend, the architect Theunes Haakma Wagenaar, Flentge’s drawings undoubtedly give the impression of being ‘the work of a man possessed’. This makes you wonder whether Flentge had made a heavenly discovery or was perhaps actually possessed. Haakma Wagenaar wrote: ‘these are as intelligent as they are original, but Flentge’s version is too maniacal and generally not tenable’. In this richly illustrated study, Marcel Teunissen tries to find a way into the hermetic oeuvre of this Utrecht visionary.

BRITSE REALISTEN UIT DE J AREN ’20 EN ’30
text Ype Koopmans, Sacha Llewellyn en Julia Dijkstra
With a richly illustrated book and a like-named retrospective exhibition, Museum MORE is the first outside Great Britain to give ample attention to British figurative art from the 20’s and 30’s. With 75 artworks by 35 artists, For Real presents the best, most fascinating and unexpected aspects of art from this period. For a long time it was assumed that British figurative art from the interwar period was immune to international influences. Building on indigenous traditions, it was mostly conventional. But is this view correct? For Real tackles the myth of this ‘splendid isolation’. With a careful selection of dozens of pieces, it is beautifully clear that there is a relationship with international neorealism. And yes, this art is sometimes also unmistakeably British. Elegant stiff-upperlip portraits, naïve working-class scenes, motionless landscapes and cityscapes, alienating still-lives but also expressive, intense works. This broad and extremely varied spectrum sketches a new image of the artistic developments in British art during the roaring twenties and dirty thirties.
Ype Koopmans is the ar tistic director of Museum MORE. Sacha Llewellyn is a writer, exhibition curator and exper t in British figurative art from the interwar period. Julia Dijkstra is a junior conservator at Museum MORE.
An introduction to forgotten society greats such as Meredith Frampton and Gerald Leslie Brockhurst or war painter Christopher Nevinson and odd one out Stanley Spencer. A striking number of talented, female artists were also active at the time, including Dod Procter, Hilda Carline, Winifred Knights and the Zinkeisen sisters.

Ad Dekkers and the transformation of space
Exhibition Atlas Building TU Eindhoven, where one of Ad Dekkers’ artworks hangs permanently. Tours and lectures will be organised during the exhibition. text Katja Rodenburg
Ad Dekkers (1938-1974) was famous for his reliefs and large, abstractgeometric works. The artist’s research fluctuates between opposites: light and dark, black and white, high and low, circle and square, visible and hidden. These two sides to his work always complement each other. Each artwork represents a provisional balance. It is fascinating how the placement of a dot, a line, lead to the creation of the square and the circle. How we can almost feel the change, the transformation of space in two and three dimensions. The essays by Katja Rodenburg make this transformation, in the game between line and shadow, not only visible to the reader, but also ‘perceptible’. The motivation and the development of the artist’s ideas are central. Important elements are art historian Hans Jaffé’s introduction about Mondrian and his first introduction to the work of Ben Nicholson. How did these experiences contribute to his idea of what an artist is and should be? We follow Ad Dekkers on his search for the essence. A search for a clarity and balance that is not easily found in the world.
Katja Rodenburg is an art philosopher, exhibition curator and author of various books, including I, Ophelia and Armando and the ar t of creation. She researches the creation process and the development of ar t and artists based on philosophical thoughts and ideas in light of the principles of the ar tist in his time.
Line and shadow highlights the artist’s power of creation, based on his own – perhaps unexpected to the reader – versatile works. How does an artist survive in the Netherlands in the sixties and seventies if he has to build a bridge while walking over it?

Although they take photos of other people for a living, professional photographers generally do not like to be photographed themselves. Yet most of the photographers portrayed in this book were actually keen to take part in this series, precisely because they are usually the ones taking the photos. Based on an immense fascination with the human face, photographer Rob Becker decided to focus on one specific group of professionals for his first monography on portraits. His starting point was the question: ‘Who are the women and men whose photos I have seen and admired? What do they look like?’ How They Look - Photographers’ Portraits presents over 100 photographers from all corners of the profession and from 30 different countries of the world.
Rob Becker (1965) has worked as a photographer since 1991, specialising in por traits, repor ts and series about music, theatre and dance. As well as commissioned work, Becker primarily works continuously on ar t projects with topics such as the city of Barcelona, ballet, por traits of photographers and also of children and flowers. Most of these photos are available as limited-edition ar t prints. Rob lives in Amsterdam.

Corpus Dei
PHOTOGRAPHY
Sabrina van de Heuvel
Within the framework of Amsterdam Art Weekend, an exhibition dedicated to Corpus Dei will take place from 21 to 23 November 2019 at Sotheby’s Amsterdam. photography Sabrina van den Heuvel text Edwin Becker, Michael Kwakkelstein In the autumn of 2017, Sabrina van den Heuvel was appointed as artist-inresidence at the Dutch University Institute for Art History (NIKI) in Florence. During her time in the city, she was inspired by the natural surroundings of Florence and Rome, the remains of classical antiquity in Tivoli and the masterpieces of Caravaggio and Michelangelo. The poetry of the latter was also an importance source of inspiration. It was here that she created her series Corpus Dei, Divine Body. The man who embodies Corpus Dei for Van den Heuvel is a model plucked from the street, Jacopo.
Edwin Becker is chief curator of exhibitions at the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. Michael Kwakkelstein is director of the Dutch University Institute for Art History in Florence and as professor of Visual Art of the renaissance in Italy, is connected to the University of Utrecht.
Edwin Becker, chief curator of exhibitions at the Van Gogh Museum: ‘Sabrina is able to use a subtle technique to surprise the viewer with beautiful blackgrey-white transitions, whereby photography almost becomes painting and drawing. Her series Corpus Dei is a collection of exciting and challenging compositions that combine her feeling for drama with a timeless aesthetic and with characters that really touch your soul.’ Corpus Dei brings emotional themes such as ecstasy, happiness and desire to the fore in a striking way. As such, the series of photos connects visual art with fashion and poetry to create a total concept.

Studio per una Scultura
PHOTOGRAPHY
Francesco Brigida
photography Francesco Brigida
The idea that an artwork should be unique comes from romanticism. However, Western art always drew inspiration from the past and built upon the ethical ideals of previous periods. Classical art can still be topical today, if it manages to sublimate the present and make it timeless. For his photo project Studio per una Scultura, Francesco Brigida found inspiration in antique sculptures. In a series of photos, he researches movement and the language of the body. These studies form the first phase of a process that concludes with the creation of a stone sculpture using a 3D printer. Brigida spent two years with just one model, working on one topic: the infinite positions in which the body can present itself. The nude is not sensual, not individual, but pure. The classical nudes were sculpted as if they were made of flesh and blood. Francesco Brigida’s photos are actually also sculptures that are formed by light against a black background. As such, he fits perfectly with a long tradition of striving for eternal beauty. The book will be released in a one-time edition of 250 copies.
Francesco Brigida (Monopoli, Italy, 1980) has been a professional photographer since 2002. He has worked as a photographer and film director in Milan and Paris.

THE CROSS ING Marissa Roth
Essays by Pico Iyer 1
Tentoonstelling Sotheby’s photography Marissa Roth text Marissa Roth, Pico Iyer From May of 2015 to May of 2019, Marissa Roth was a passenger aboard the Queen Mary II on seven transatlantic crossings between New York City and Southampton, England. These crossings mark what could be considered her allegorical return journeys to Europe in homage to her mother and father, and, during the westward crossings, a retracing of their destiny. Fleeing what would become World War II and the Holocaust, her parents independently left their respective homes in Eastern Europe and sailed to America in late October of 1938 aboard the original Queen Mary, on which they met and fell in love. Their time on the stormy autumn seas proved to be more than just a pragmatic decision. It was also a romantic and prophetic passage, not just across an ocean, but one from fear to hope and probable death to life. After completing her book on Tibet, Infinite Light: A Photographic Meditation on Tibet, Marissa Roth wanted to work out a smaller subject. Not the world or a region again, but now a topic with clearly defined parameters that contain a world in itself. The Atlantic Ocean became the handle to understand the experiences of her parents during their transatlantic crossing and her handle to study the geography of memory. It released the adventurer in her.
Marissa Roth is a freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer. She was par t of The Los Angeles Times staff that won a Pulitzer Prize for Best Spot News, for its coverage of the 1992 Los Angeles riots. She is the author of Infinite Light: A Photographic Meditation on Tibet and Burning Heart: A Portrait of The Philippines. One Person Crying: Women and War. She is a curator, and a Fellow at the Royal Geographical Society in London. Pico Iyer is the author of fifteen books, including Video Night in Kathmandu, The Lady and the Monk, and The Art of Stillness. He has been a constant contributor to Time, The New York Times, The New York Review of Books and many other publications.

Por trait of a Sicilian Café in America
Tentoonstelling Sotheby’s photography Paul Cary Goldberg text Paul Cary Goldberg, Frank Viviano Paul Cary Goldberg started photographing in Caffé Sicilia in Gloucester in the spring of 2007. He had been working there for 8 years and knew many regular customers - mostly men, most of them from Sicilian descent; fishermen, masons, businessmen, plasterers, painters and electricians. The reason he first brought his camera to the café was to become familiar with his digital photo camera. He had been photographing with film for 30 years and it seemed to him that the café with the people, its activities and the small space would offer him a good learning situation. While photographing, he discovered how complex and rich this small, modest café is and how deeply the culture is woven into the personality and life of people. While taking photographs, a deep mutual respect and affection arose. Many of the photos in this book were taken during the period that Caffé Sicilia almost went bankrupt and got up again. A number of photos were taken on the sidewalk in front of the café, but most of them were photographed in the small, narrow coffee shop. They are intimate images; candid portraits of Sicilian American neighbors and their culture. But they are also about the city of Gloucester and the American life in the early 21st century. They are about the power of photography that captures universal struggles and joy.
Paul Cary Goldberg (New York 1950) lives and works in Gloucester, Massachusetts. His work is included in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Fogg Ar t Museum at the Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Frank Viviano is a SicilianAmerican journalist. He worked as a foreign correspondent for the Pacific News Service and the San Francisco Chronicle. In addition, Viviano ar ticles have appeared in more than 200 newspapers and magazines, including Mother Jones and National Geographic. He is the author of several books including Dispatches from the Pacific Century (1993) and Blood Washes Blood: A True Story of Love, Murder, and Redemption Under the Sicilian Sun (2001).

Por traits of Hip Hop by Ilja Meefout
photography Ilja Meefout text Saul van Stapele Hip Hop started out as a sub-culture in the Bronx (New York) during the seventies. Over the years, figures in the Hip Hop scene have often achieved iconic status; it is a culture that has followers all over the world. Meefout has photographed the world’s greatest Hip Hop artists. He grew up in the Bijlmermeer in Southeast Amsterdam. His love of Hip Hop – which developed from an early age by listening to cassette tapes of Eric B & Rakim, NWA and Public Enemy – is clearly visible in his photos. His portraits are often characterized by a quiet simplicity and take ‘the artist’ out of their daily context, that often includes a large entourage and a lot of noise. Snoop Dogg, Lil’ Wayne, Pusha T, Ice Cube, The Beastie Boys and the Wu-Tang Clan: Meefout has captured them all on camera. His intuitive way of photographing makes Meefout a leading portrait photographer, with one great love for Hip Hop.
Ilja Meefout (1979) has been photographing for 15 years. He has worked for State Magazine and various commissioners such as the Dutch government, several utilities companies, foreign brands and magazines. Meefout lives and works in Southeast Amsterdam.
Meefout’s first photography book 1,2 1,2 – Portraits of Hip Hop presents an impressive overview of his extensive oeuvre. The book shows Meefout’s process as a photographer, but at the same time is also an ode to Hip Hop; told from his own perspective and in the context of the surroundings in which Meefout grew up, with all its urban and social challenges. This context contributed to Meefout’s visual language: from local to international stars, posing as if they are friends of his, familiar and natural, and therefore universal.

Erik van Cuyk
The Rijnwijk series has drawn international interest and was recently exhibited during the Voies Off photo festival, Rencontres d’Arles 2019. photography Erik van Cuyk
Never before has a working-class neighbourhood – that will soon be demolished – been captured so impressively; intense portraits interspersed with tranquil images of surroundings that will one day disappear. Van Cuyk won the trust of the residents and has been completely immersed with his camera in a highly non-conformist culture. The photography is at the intersection of autonomous art and documentarysocial photography. It is a story of disconnection and abandonment. What happens to people when you take them out of their familiar surroundings? But it is also a story about stigmas and about deviating from the established order.
Erik van Cuyk originally graduated as a lawyer but after a number of detours has chosen the profession of photography. He recently graduated from the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam. In his very first year of study, Erik was included in the book NIKON/GUP New Dutch Photography Talent and he exhibited at the Rotterdam Photo festival. In terms of content, his work is often about decay and the beauty of it.
‘I love ‘Democracy Photographers’. It feels like an injustice that there are things that not seen. Ugliness doesn’t exist for me. It is precisely this transience that carries incredible beauty.’

Die Kunst ein Mensch zu sein
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographs 1996 – 2019
photography Jesse Faber text Arnon Grunberg, Jesse Faber The book Die Kunst ein Mensch zu sein and the like-named photo series by de Amsterdam artist Jesse Faber is a reaction to a dialogue between two of the most significant contemporary artists in art history. Artist Joseph Beuys once said: ‘Jeder Mensch ist ein Künstler’, to which Martin Kippenberger replied ‘Jeder Künstler ist ein Mensch’. Die Kunst ein Mensch zu sein includes a selection of Faber’s masked photo portraits, taken with a 6x6 Hasselblad camera in the 1990’s. In a humorous, yet serious way, Faber plays with the theme of identity in our daily lives. Can we really be who we are? Or do we wear a mask to hide our true identity, only showing a different face to the outside world?
Jesse Faber (Amsterdam, 1973) graduated from the Royal Academy of Visual Ar ts in The Hague in 1999. As well as being a photographer he also works as a painter, director and actor. The emphasis in his visual ar t is usually on the por trait and the emotion conveyed by facial expressions. Faber’s work is exhibited in Amsterdam, London, Basel, New York and Miami.
The book is released to mark the 20-year anniversary of Faber as an artist and alongside his portrait photos from the 90’s also includes a series of new, masked photo portraits made recently by the artist. Especially for this occasion, author Arnon Grunberg has written an essay for Die Kunst ein Mensch zu sein.

photography Remsen Wolff
All American Girls is the first publication about the work by the American photographer, poet and social activist Remsen Wolff (1940-1998). Wolff was a self-taught street and studio photographer who rarely presented his work. His recently discovered archive, which covers a period of forty years, contains 200,000 images. From this historical treasure chest, Dutch curator Hedy van Erp made a wonderful first selection of his loving portraits of New York’s transvestites, transsexuals and transgender people. In the early 1990s, Wolff, struggling with his identity and gender, became fascinated by the beauty and talent of a hundred special girls in New York and chose them as his photo models personally. A number of models in All American Girls are now world famous, such as Kabuki and Amanda Lepore. From the 1990s, Wolff called himself “phony transsexual.” In the last years of his turbulent life, he took the self-chosen name of Vivienne (Viv) Blum. After that, Wolff died in his birthplace New York. He left his archive to his last assistant, the Dutch photographer Jochem Brouwer. This book is the very first solo publication in which work by Remsen Wolff is shown and also the start of the tribute to this very talented photographer.
Remsen Wolff graduated in ar t history at Harvard University in 1963. He married, had two daughters and after his divorce traveled extensively through the US and Europe. He photographed men and women in the public space for his series Solo Appearances. In Texas in the late 1980s, he was mistakenly accused of serial killings and indicted, which made him a millionaire which offered the possibility of continuing to photograph without the need to earn a living.

HGEsch
Tentoonstelling Sotheby’s photography HGEsch text Rolf Sachsse HG Esch is one of the most respected architectural photographers in the world, his clients send him over all five continents. In his works, he combines a well trained historical vision – he started his vocation with preservation campaigns of medieval churchhouses and castles – with a never ending curiosity in all forms of global housing and living. For the first half of his three decade long career, he has produced Polaroid images that are displayed in this book. HG Esch worked with Polaroid materials initially as a proof: Using a positive image from a cassette with nearly the same dimensions as the film in large format photography, one can test whether the lighting is good, whether gray values and gradation scales are evenly and repoducibly distributed over the surface of the image, and whether the composition on the ground glass can withstand a countercheck on paper. And: HG Esch collected these proofs as studies in their own respect, in result not always matching the later picture. The range of subjects and places spans the history of architecture, from churchhouses in Cologne to the Petrona twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, from airports in Asia to the clay city of Shibam in Yemen. By 2005, the history of Polaroid was over, so was its use by HG Esch. The book marks an important contribution to the history of architecture as of photography.

Growing up in a multicultural adopted or foster family
The authors previously made together the successful 18 x 18. Foster children on the threshold The book will be presented during the Week of Foster Care from 30 October to 6 November
opgroeien in een multicultureel adoptieof pleeggezin
tekst Femmie Juffer, Lindy Popma en Monique Steenstra fotografie Lilian van Rooij There are lots of multicultural adoptive and foster families in the Netherlands. These are families with adopted children from other countries (China or South Africa, for example) living in a white adoptive family or, in terms of foster care, children with a migration background who often cannot be placed in a foster home or family home with the same cultural background. This house is a home uses 16 interviews to give a voice to young people with different ethnic backgrounds growing up with white adoptive families of with foster parents and thus form a multicultural adoptive or foster family. They have different cultural backgrounds (foster care) and countries of origin (adoption). In word and image, it makes visible who these young people are and how they see themselves. How do they experience their cultural identity? To what extent do they feel connected with the culture of their adoptive or foster parents and to what extent with the culture of their biological parents or country of origin? And what is it like to grow up with two cultures? Do they experience discrimination, positive or negative? Femmie Juffer has written a substantive chapter on these topics.
Femmie Juffer is a professor of adoption and foster care studies at the University of Leiden. Lindy Popma is an author and language trainer and for many years was chief editor of BIJ ONS at home in foster care. Monique Steenstra is an author and coach and for many years was chief editor of WAT?!, for children/youths in foster care..
This house is a home is released with the support of Stichting Kinderpostzegels
This house is a home is a book for (young adult) adopted and foster children, (aspirant) adoptive and foster family parents and all those who are involved with adoption or foster care through their study or profession. Tentoonstelling Sotheby’s text Antoon Erftemeijer
As well as his work as curator of Modern Art at the Frans Hals Museum, Antoon Erftemeijer is also a visual artist and publicist. But he also writes stories. About art, religion, love and other universal themes. They are classical stories with a plot and are often set in romantic places – monasteries, old houses, mountain villages. But appearances can be deceptive. The main characters carry dark secrets, are haunted by their past or find themselves, against their will, in strange situations yet driven by curiosity. The world of Erftemeijer is a world that seems very familiar at first glance, but in which the trusted reality is often overtaken by metaphysical events that, due to the clear writing style, seem to be completely logical. Anyone who is carried away by the stories will notice a new reality emerging that takes a natural place between everything we are familiar with.
Antoon Erftemeijer (1954) is connected to the Frans Hals Museum as curator of Modern Ar t. In the field of fiction, he has previously published the story collection The sketchbook of Spinoza (1992) and the novels Dura Mater (2004) and Een Halszaak in Haarlem (2018). His art history publications include Rembrandt’s monkey (2000), Vincent’s ear (2012) and Art can make you cry (2018).
Antoon Erfemeijer adds his own voice to the tradition of writers such as Belcampo and Hubert Lampo.

De kleurrijke keeper / The colourful keeper
SPORTS
Renny de Bruyn
text Renny de Bruyn illustrations Gijs Kast An ex-keeper looks back on his experiences between the goalposts. Why did he choose this position on the football field and was it actually a choice? What is it that makes a goalkeeper tick? Which injuries are characteristic and which position does the keeper command both on and off the field? What can be said about his innermost feelings and about his sexual preferences? These and other questions about the keeper are described in 30 chapters in a personal and semi-scientific way. Renny de Bruyn describes the special position of the keeper in a light-hearted and hilarious way. Not only as a key figure in the field, but also by highlighting his position in society. Recommended for anyone who cares about the keeper, and for those who are curious about the characteristics of keepers.
Renny de Bruyn, 15 October 1947, Eindhoven. Ex sports teacher, physiotherapist, osteopathist. Own practice in Geldrop. Father of three children, three bonus children and eight grandchildren. Writer of two medical books (2007 and 2010). Keeper for 15 years with third-class Veloc.
Famous illustrator Gijs Kast has illuminated the book with beautiful, characteristic drawings of the body language of the keeper.

Detailed monograph on Wim Crouwel: graphic designer and exhibition designer, who determined the face of post-war Netherlands with his agency Total Design. His modernism was reflected in countless posters and catalogs for the Stedelijk Museum, in stamps and experimental work such as a sensational computer alphabet. Crouwel raised criticism in the 1970s, but is nowadays a cult figure and inspiration for many. The book is abundantly illustrated and shows a great deal of beautiful work. The texts highlight his career and his views and provide informative background to his work
