This diploma in professional cookery helps you master your culinary finesse, training you for the pressure and excitement of professional kitchens. You will learn how to prepare a kitchen for service, work a cook line, put your own creative twists on classic dishes and serve them up in our commercial training restaurant. You will even take part in a work placement, where you can put your expert skills to the test. This course is also industry recognised for its current and relevant curriculum, providing you with skills and knowledge in food hygiene, catering operations, the latest industry trends and more.

Study length: 1 year, full time.

Entry requirements:

Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above; English and Maths is preferred, along with a hospitality-based qualification. We also welcome people with previous cooking experience.

What’s next?

Progression may include a Level 3 course or apprenticeship, or relevant employment.

Career opportunities:

You can go on to work as a commis chef or a chef de partie.
