Develop your understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the nursery/ childcare assistant with this Level 1 course. You will learn about supporting children’s development and learning, how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people, and health and safety policies and procedures. Full training will be given to enable you to access the learning experiences provided online.

Progression may include Early Years Practitioner Diploma Level 2. All students progressing on to vocational qualifications will need an enhanced DBS and voluntary experience in an Early Years setting.

If you are considering a career in caring for children, or are a parent wishing to develop parenting skills, this course is for you. You will learn about practical health and safety when with young children, human growth and development, and how to listen and talk to a young child. Teaching times will be planned around childcare arrangements.

This qualification does not qualify you to work but does support you in preparing for your next steps either in training or moving towards work.
