Improve your ways of working with those with learning disabilities or difficulties with this intensive course.

You will explore the principles of safeguarding and positive risk-taking, while gaining awareness of the autistic spectrum. You will study safeguarding and protection policies in a health and social care setting, and gain an introduction to personalisation in health and social care.

Progression may include further qualifications in early years, education or health and social care; or relevant employment.

Supporting Teaching and Learning

Duration: 1 year; 18 weeks Location: Quarry Hill Campus; online; Deacon House; Joseph Priestley Centre; Horsforth Community Hub Study: Full-time; part-time

This course is ideal if you want to expand your knowledge of working with children or young people in a learning environment. There’s the option to study full-time or part-time on Tuesday evenings, allowing you to easily fit the course around other commitments.

We recommend you undertake 100 hours on a work placement, where you will gain the practical experience required for working in a school or college. This in turn will help you develop your communication skills, allowing you to step into a rewarding role with confidence.

Progression may include the Supporting Teaching and Learning NCFE CACHE Certificate Level 3 qualification.
