The programme develops your understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years of age, with applied knowledge in the early years, from birth to five years.
You will explore wellbeing and communication in an early years setting, as well as strategies for developing early literacy and maths. You will also learn about safeguarding, including child protection, and work in cooperation with colleagues, parents and other professionals to ensure a safe environment in which children can thrive.
Progression may include the Supporting Teaching and Learning Foundation Degree; Edexcel Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children’s Services, or employment in children’s management, residential management or advanced practice.
