A Level Physical Education is a dynamic course that blends academic assessment with physical performance.

You will develop theoretical knowledge of changes within the body before, during and after exercise.

The course also provides practical insight into sports performance and gives you the opportunity to coach sport and study the impact that engagement in physical activity has on life.

You will become a confident, resilient and healthy individual as you acquire key academic skills, such as critical thinking and various research methods. You will also study a range of topics including the use of sports-enhancing drugs, modern technology’s influence on sport, and diet and exercise’s significance on society.

This A level complements a range of other subjects including biology, physics, psychology, sociology and more. The transferable skills developed during this A level, such as decision making and creative thinking, can be applied to multiple career paths.
