A level Textiles is not just about creating clothing, it’s a versatile subject that involves the creation and manipulation of a range of materials.

This multidisciplinary course encompasses a variety of creative methods including drawing, painting, printing, knitting, weaving and stitching.

You will explore the use of traditional and innovative materials, techniques and processes to communicate and demonstrate your ideas. You can use these techniques to explore fashion, interior design or fine art textiles.

An important aspect of the course will be your ability to consider the work of artists and designers to inspire your own creative thinking.

Progression routes

Students can progress to degree courses in areas such as art, architecture, textiles, interior design, fashion design and illustration.

Previous students have progressed to art and design at Leeds Arts University.

Entry requirements

Grade 9-4 at GCSE in a creative subject or an interest in the subject.
