DESIGNER : Hsin Ping Lee, Yue Yi Tsai, Stephanie Wong, Fabiola Rodas FINISH TIME : 2018.1 DESIGN CONCEPT : Beenie is a social robot designed for children who suffer from Down Syndrome, aiming for teaching them life skills.

DESIGN GOAL : Beenie is intended to be used by parents with children that suffer from Down Syndrome in their household, to act as a supportive figure that supports them in the early formative years of the child’s life. Beenie can also be used by doctors in hospitals to help patients with Down Syndrome that need a companion but are unable to get one.

(1) INTERVIEW When we first started this project, our ideas and concepts were very different. We contacted Kaohsiung Down Syndrome Joy Association for a better understanding of this syndrome. We met Down Syndrome kids so we can have full understanding of they abilities and limitations. We had a very good time with the kids, we really get to know them by asking questions, introduce ourselves and understand they problems. Later on we met NCKU Physical Therapy Department Bih-Jen Hsue Associate Professor for understanding how the IQ of Down Syndrome children works, so summed up some vital information for our research.

Everybody is very comfortable in it, there is a very friendly atmosphere. Every space here is a shared space, everybody is very familiar with each other.

They are also given thicker pencils, since they have noticed their handwriting looks better, because probably have a better grip with it. The first deals with the rational, logic elements and the second one maximizes our creativity and emotions.

considerable delay and difficulties when learning to talk, though they typically understand much more than they can express. The physical features and medical problems associated with Down syndrome can vary widely from child to child. While some kids with Down Syndrome need a lot of medical attention, others lead healthy lives. The mouth structure and its essential organs of Down syndrome children create real problems in voice, speech, language and communication. These children have a protruding tongue and their mouth cavity is really small and their tongue also gets bigger at the back part of the mouth.

(4) USER PERSONA : A persona is a representation of who we are designing, in this case a Down syndrome individual with a mental age of a kid.

The average IQ of a young adult with Down syndrome is 50, equivalent to the mental ability of an 8- or 9-year-old child, but this can vary widely.

(4) MIND MAP : Mind mapping is one of the best ways to capture our thoughts and bring them to life in visual form. Our lessons are daily life knowledge that will exercise their minds, and expand they knowledge.

ABOUT BEENIE : Based on the research above, we designed Beenie, a small robot that can interact with Down Syndrome children. It has a screen on which can play a specially designed game to teach them the skills of daily life. Primary features • It can educate with interactive applications • Expandable platform that its still growing • His joints replicate human motions Secondary features • Interactive Voice • Able to dialogue with the user

INTERFACE : Beenie Interface is user friendly and easily operated. It is designed with a variety of colors to attract our user. Its purpose is to educate with interactive animations and move his hands and legs along with you to create a suitable environment for the child to learn in a fun way. (1)Cleaning the room : The idea of a cleanup is shoving everything under the bed and smoothing out the dust ruffle. Provide your kids with a real cleanup that takes only minutes to learn. Give them this step-by-step guide to getting their room in great shape. Beenie will draw your child's attention and encourage to do the required task.

(2)Crossing the Street : It can be very dangerous if you don't pay careful attention to everything that is going on around you in the street. There are laws and rules to help keep you safe when you are walking. The most important thing for you to do is to stay out of the road. Beenie will help you remembering every step, for example when to cross, where to see and how to do it...

(3 )Taking the Bus : Have you ever ridden on a public bus to get from one place to another? Public transportation is the main option to move around. Beenie show every step, such as the bus stop, easy card paying... so that later on they can go to school or go home by themself. For Down syndrome kids visual learning is stronger than remembering verbal information.

(4)Teeth Brushing : When raising children, it’s important to teach them good personal hygiene habits. Beenie as an example of personal cleanliness is also an effective teaching method with children as they will watch and learn to perform these tasks as they see and do them. With a little imagination, brushing can be fun! In this animated video, a child teaches proper brushing tips while fending off the Invisible Nasties living in her smile. Take advantage of the features of the robot, by using the replay button if something isn't clear.

一、整體介紹: (1) 設計起點 現代人生活繁忙,時常處於壓力之中。療の眠的初 衷,是希望藉由日常生活經驗的改善,在細節處帶 給人們療癒、慰藉。 生活繁忙

(3) 設計核心 療の眠系列產品的設計核心為「療癒」,此概念源 自日語 ---「癒し」,為解除痛苦、傷痛復原之意。 運用在設計上,代表一種舒適、愉悅、放鬆等心理 感受,進而在情緒上有撫慰的效果。因此,此產品 除了改善現有問題外,在造型、材質與使用流程上, 都以療癒為核心設計。 (4) 整體外觀風格 • 簡約幾何俐落感,走日系風格。 • 水泥材質具沉穩樸實,灰色百搭。 • 雙主機 ( 窗台機與床頭機 ) 與遙控器可拼裝組合,形成方體,呼應 巧拼可拼裝與方形的特性。 • 雙主機組合,有傳統鬧鐘的形象。 • 雙主機組合象徵著窗中的日出,孕育著植物的生命。 • 圓形植栽代表眼睛,意旨鬧鐘與夜燈的功能都是透過感應器觸發。

二、舒醒鐘介紹: (1) 設計理念 希望改變傳統鬧鐘僅使用聲音打斷睡眠,造成使用 者不適感受的現象。療の眠透過日光照進房間,刺 激身體自然甦醒,並在起床後給予植物澆水的回饋, 創造愉快且療癒的起床經驗。

(2) 研究統計 傳統鬧鐘以聲音打斷睡眠,有以下缺點: • 被鬧鐘叫醒,可能使人產生心慌、情緒低落、感覺沒睡醒等不適感受。 • 鬧鈴驚醒者比睡到自然醒的人血壓更高,心率更快。 • 鬧鈴聲會增加睡眠中身體全面的壓力水平。 • 當處于熟睡的人被喚醒時,會影響其短期的記憶能力、認知能力甚至 是計算技能。 透過日光喚醒的優點: 起床後照射日光 15 至 30 分鐘,身體會停止分泌令人困倦的褪黑激素, 增加大腦內血清素的水平,有助於讓生理時鐘穩定。 鬧鐘功能統計 : 調查受訪者最重視的鬧鐘功能,發現音量大小、有賴床模式兩者數字 形成拉鋸,代表民眾希望鬧鐘要夠大聲,好把自己喚醒,卻又苦於賴 床心理,希望鬧鐘有「賴床模式」可以選擇。 其他 4% 我沒有鬧鐘 14% 趣味性 6%

(4) 初步製作 內部機構: 療の眠的內部機構皆為樂高,舒醒鐘是由樂高 火車組 ( 左 ) 與 EV3 機器人 ( 右 ) 構成的。 程式設計: 寫在 EV3 機器人內的舒醒鐘程式設計。

(5) 機構分析 使用 EV3 的馬達,接上壓克力雷切吻合窗簾珠鍊的大齒輪,用以 拉開窗簾。 紅外線感應器內嵌在床頭機,45 度切角面床,當感應到人從床上 坐起時,就會停止鬧鈴,如果使用者賴床躺回去,就會再度響起。 植栽的自動澆水功能,是利用馬達控制。窗台機上方內部有儲水 槽,水管為長條形氣球,當澆水時,馬達會旋開三秒使水管出水。 出水孔是利用粗吸管戳孔,製造雨滴效果。

(6) 模型實作 舒醒鐘的外觀為灰水泥製,窗台機添加了白水泥,所以色澤偏白,床頭機與遙控 器則是清水模灰。灌水泥的模型為珍珠板,用電器膠布與熱熔膠黏合並抹上凡士 林以利脫膜。較需注意的是,倒入水泥後必須多次敲打才能使內部泡泡浮出。

(7) 模型呈現 窗台機,由白灰水泥混製而成,小齒輪接火車馬達;大齒輪接 NXT 機器人,植 栽側邊為雷切壓克力板。

(8) 使用流程

設定的起床時間前十分鐘自動拉起窗簾。

在窗簾收起前,如果沒有關掉舒醒鐘,就 會撥放鬧鈴。當紅外線感應器感應到人從 床上坐起時,會停止;如果使用者賴床躺 回去,鬧鈴就會再度響起。

使用者起身至別處按壓遙控器,關閉舒醒 鐘。

使用者關閉舒醒鐘時,會啟動回饋機制 --窗台機自動幫植物澆水,象徵著每天醒來 就會帶給植物生機。

平時需開關窗簾時,轉動窗台機的旋轉鈕 即可。

三、星河拼毯介紹: (1) 設計理念 一般人夜晚關燈後需下床走動時,通常會使用手機照明或開啟床頭 燈,但螢幕藍光傷眼,且床頭燈易打擾同房人的睡眠。療の眠希望 藉由夜燈巧拼的路線指引,使行走過程更為安全且不干擾他人。外 觀上,星空意象搭配柔軟的毛質觸感,加上貼近一般人下床走動的

(2) 研究統計 藍光傷害: 關燈後使用手機,藍光對眼睛的傷害較未關燈時高出四倍,可能導 致黃斑部病變。 目前市售夜燈: 市面上的夜燈,大多只是加了造型外罩的燈泡,頂多擁有定時、調 整亮度的功能,尚未出現能配合使用者上下床而明暗、指引道路的 產品。 巧拼優點: • 拆裝方便 • 易收納 • 重量輕 • 無冰冷感

巧拼燈原理: 每一塊拼毯上共有 18 顆 LED 燈,分為兩階段,一個階段亮 9 顆 燈。LED 每三顆為一組串聯 2k 歐姆的電阻,每組間彼此並聯。 拼毯與拼毯間也是彼此並聯,以免一塊壞了導致全部不能亮。 為了使用者安裝方便,拼毯之間的導電接口在卡榫側邊,使用者 只須將第一塊插電,後面的直接拼上即可。 第一階段亮燈

由於樂高的電壓僅 5.9 伏特,無法供所有的 拼毯發亮,所以我們使用外接電源並變壓成 12 伏特,利用繼電器 (relay) 使樂高可以控 制外接電源。

床頭機內有一個超音波感測器,感應到使用 者下床時會亮起拼毯,回來時再次感應則會 熄滅拼毯。

在門框上裝有壓力感測器,開門時會觸動而 亮起門外燈。

(5) 模型實作 每一塊星河拼毯,都是由純手工製作而成的,耗費相當多的時間。首先用竹筷在巧拼 上鑽洞、而後用錫焊接 LED 燈泡與電線並用電器膠布黏在巧拼下側,側面卡榫利用 錫箔紙製作導電接口。最後在表面黏上絨毛布,一塊巧拼大功告成。特別的是,每一 塊拼毯的星河造型經過標準化,都為一致的圖像。

(8) 使用流程

使用者從床上起身時,床頭機的超音波偵 測器會感應並點亮星河拼毯,指引路徑。

臥室門外設置照明燈,當人從臥室出來並 關門時,會觸動門上的壓力感應器,使拼 毯熄滅並點亮門上照明燈,讓使用者安全 得走到走廊電燈開關處。

回 來 時, 再 度 開 關 門 會 使 門 外 照 明 燈 熄 滅、巧拼亮起,並在使用者回到床上時熄 滅。如果使用者僅在房內走動,並無出房 門,也可在按下床頭機的開關熄滅巧拼。

03 作者:李芯蘋、米恒毅、許新語 完成時間:2018.1 圖文小助手是一款專為年長者設計的高質感長輩圖生產器,為 手機應用程式。 在科技日亦發達的今日,通訊軟體的使用者不再僅限年輕族群, 越來越多銀髮族也開始使用。而傳送問候圖片給親朋好友,則 成為了長輩間流行的聯繫方式。 由於製作門檻簡單,導致許多缺乏美感的圖片被廣為流傳。有 鑑於此,我們設計了一款讓年長者也能輕鬆入門的長輩圖生產 器,透過濾鏡、字形選擇控管出圖品質,並在操作流程上改善 現有軟體的不便性,使完成圖能直接傳送至通訊軟體。

04 作品名:國立成功大學 107 級畢業主視覺 - 成年好久 作者:李芯蘋、鄭博允 完成時間:2017.10 成年好久有兩種詮釋,一為「酒」的意象,二為「久」的 時間感。首先從「酒」為出發,以背景色彩的流動感連結 其液態性質。接著以「久」為發想,流動的元素除了象徵 四年時光的流逝,也代表畢業之際,內心中那片屬於成大 的回憶在腦海中流動。英文名「long term memory」字體 設計,還有畫面中錯落的色塊,取材自收訊不清的畫面, 象徵回憶四年來的往事時,既清楚又模糊的感覺。最後, 白色球體的背景,好似一個玻璃球,象徵著畢業以前我們, 就像透過一層玻璃看著這個世界,無法真正的觸碰與主導。 而畢業將是一個改變的起點,衝破隔閡,真正邁入社會。

作品名:第十屆武壢桃之夜海報 - 鏡 作者:李芯蘋 完成時間:2017.4 Model:蔡仲薇 每個人內心都存在著許多面向,就像鏡中畫面,層層反射, 無限延伸。這些面向,或許熟知;抑或是連自己都摸不清、 熟悉而陌生。看著鏡子中的自己,你看到了什麼 ? 利用走廊的一點透視,創在一種內心層層堆疊、深不見底 的複雜混亂。中間一道劃破世界的碎裂鏡畫面,渲染了海 浪與星空的紋路,打造一種迷濛虛幻感。同時,晃動的「鏡」 標題,也表達一種不確定、閃爍的意象。 或許,我們每個人的心,都有那麼些不完美的裂痕。

此為參加成大動態影像創作營時,39 小時拍片競賽製作的 海報,片種為恐怖片。 劇情大綱講述一個專門獵殺街頭藝人的連環女殺手,勾引 其中一個獵物的過程。 而畫面中的那些物品,則是她將被害人的表演道具作為戰 利品貼在牆上的畫面。
