The Park Authority will hold a public hearing about the proposal Wednesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in its board meeting room, Suite 941 in the Herrity Building, 12055 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax. Langley Fork Park, located at 6250 Georgetown Pike just north of Dolley Madison Boulevard in McLean, is part of a 742-acre National Park Service property. FCPA master-planned, developed and managed the park under special-use permits issued by NPS in 1981. Those permits expired in 2006, and the National Park Service since has renewed them only one year at a time, making it hard for both agencies to manage and improve the park, Fairfax officials said. The park now is home to a 60-foot diamond field, a 90-foot diamond field, two rectangular fields, two multi-use courts, a fitness trail and a 170-space parking lot. None of the athletic fields is lighted. FCPA officials in 2013 hammered out a revised master plan for Langley
