VOTE ROBERT GREENHILL #1 FOR EDUCATION OFFICER!
Who? Robert Greenhill, aka Rob, Year 5 BA Humanities and Arts. Three-time Captain, now coach, of Leicester’s University Challenge Team (There’s always next year!), a mere glimmer in the dazzling firmament of LUTheatre...
What? To represent all of you in the key part of your university experience: the top-notch education you came here for. £9000 a year is a lot of money, and I aim to see you get value for money, in part by making things work as advertised. • Prompt and consistent feedback • New teaching and learning spaces • Assisting the shift toward flexible pathways and dealing with teething troubles • Raising awareness of the HEAR report at an early stage and the full range of eligible activities.
• Maintaining and developing the Course Rep system. The Education Officer’s job would be impossible without them! • Distance learners, mature and part-time students in particular need a passionate and vocal advocate, both to promote their education at Leicester and defend it nationally. Postgraduate funding with a cut-off age of 30 is not good enough! • Too often, I hear people around campus saying the Union is out of touch. That needs to change. If elected, an early priority will be consultation to find out how you want the Sabbs to stay in touch. Weekly Question Time in the Square? Sitting in on your lectures? Trying out your sports and activities? You tell us! We work for you! Why Vote For Me? Experience! Experience of representation, of consultation, of team-working, of building consensus, listening and smoothing occasional ruffled feathers. I’m also not afraid to look silly in pursuit of the greater good – as you’ll know if you’ve seen my screen! • • • • • • •
